My Experience

I have almost 15 years experience working with children both in a school setting and as an after-school nanny and a full time nanny. I have experience working with children from 10 months - 18 years.

I have spent the last 2 years with 2 children who are now 5 and 8. My main role being an after-school nanny picking them up from school. My duties included helping with homework and reading and spellings, ensuring bags have been unpacked and repacked for the following day, making a healthy snack for each child to take to school the following day. Collecting from after school clubs and driving the eldest to an after school tutor and club. Cooking them dinner and ensuring the house is tidy ready for the parents return. During school holidays I have done a mixture of school holiday camp pick ups, bringing them home and playing and entertaining the children until dinner and the usual evening routine and full days childcare, prepping lunch for the following day. Other days would be full days, taking the children out for days out and in the local area. Visiting parks and playgrounds, playing at home with board games and in the garden, taking them out for lunch and other activities organised by myself.

Previous to this role, I was with my previous family for 5 years with 2 boys aged 10 months and 3 years at the start (5 and 7 at the time of leaving). I started as an after-school nanny picking them up from nursery and cooking them dinner, giving them a bath and getting them ready for bed. When the eldest started school 3 years ago the youngest was taken out of nursery part time and I did sole care. I made breakfast for both boys, got them dressed and did the school run. I then spent the day with the youngest, attending various groups and outdoor activities as well as educational activities at home before collecting the older child from school and continuing with the routine until bedtime.

I have assisted in both weaning and potty training. I have a particular interest in weaning and children’s nutrition, and am happy to prepare food/first tastes. I also have a 7 month old of my own.

I worked in a primary school for 6 years so have experience with children of ages. I was an SEN Teaching Assistant starting in year one and staying until the end of year six. I have assisted with running various interventions including reading, phonics and speech and language. I prepared speech and language activities for myself and other members of staff for various abilities.

I have been driving for 10+ years and have a clean driving license.

My Qualifications

I have completed stage 1-4 Makaton training. I have also had training in various disabilities. I have also had phonics training and various reading programmes for primary school ages

My Availability

I am available Monday-Friday.

My Fees

• Nannying from £14.00 per hour (net)
