About Me
I am an OFSTED registered childminder living in Bricket Wood, St Albans, Herts. I have three children of my own aged 16. 14 and 11 and three rescue cats from Cyprus. I've been a childminder for 13 years caring for children aged 0-11.
I provide a homely and nurturing childcare service where the children are in the driver’s seat of their own learning. My approach to learning stems from lots of different styles from Montessori, Reggio Emilia, The Curiosity Approach and many more. Every child is a curious individual with the power and potential to develop and learn from their environment and the relationships they build with others. We spend a lot of time outside exploring nature but also developing social skills and interaction by visiting parks, toddler groups, libraries and farms as well as hosting play mornings with another childminder at our home or theirs. The children have opportunities to learn yoga and meditation at home as part of story time and relaxation and sing and sign sessions outside of the setting.
I hold numerous childcare qualifications including a Level 3 in Early Years Education, ICAN Speech and Language with experience with children who have English as an Additional Language (EAL). I am a qualified SENCO with SEND experience and a qualified Paediatric First Aider. I currently work Monday - Thursday as my Fridays are spent mentoring other childminders through the DfE Covid Recovery Programme and extending my learning. I am currently learning British Sign Language Level 1 and completing an Early Years Professional Development course as there is always more to learn in Early Years!
My Experience
I am a Registered Childminder graded Good in all areas by Ofsted. I provide a warm, caring and loving homebased setting where standards are high and independence can be developed. I am a multi age setting which gives children the opportunity learn from both older and younger children which research shows proves valuable to a child's development.
I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage and deliver it in a way that focuses on each child's individual needs and interests. As a small setting I get to know the children well and each day is a new adventure.
At home I encourage play using natural and real life items. We love arts and crafts and sensory play. I try to promote a calm and homely environment as the children learn so much ore when they are relaxed and happy.
We read lots of books and grow a variety of fruit, veg and flowers in the garden. The children plant, water and harvest the crops and we cook with them or send them home.
I have three cats which I rescued from Cyprus. They are very friendly and have lots to teach the children about animal kindness.
We go out of the setting most days and like to have lots of adventures. I am a member of Willows farm but we also visit parks, woodland walks, toddler groups, splash parks, fruit picking and libraries so the children have lots of opportunity to socialise with other children, meet adults that help us and learn how to have fun and be safe in different places.
I am able to offer the 2 year old and 3 and 4 year old funding, tax free childcare and am signed up to accept most salary sacrifice workplace voucher schemes.

My Fees
- Childminding from £8.00 per hour
Fees are inclusive of Breakfast, Dinner, Snacks and Outings. Parents to provide packed lunch, nappies, wipes.

We are so lucky to have Rebecca as a childminder! Her house is like a home from home for both our children, they bound in happily in the morning and I have great difficulty getting them to leave at pick up. Her own family is lovely and she makes my children feel like part of it when they are with her.
Rebecca is reliable, extremely helpful and not only does she do an amazing job with the children but she communicates really well with the parents. She does loads of activities with the children and she personalises what she does to suit the needs and personality of each child. I can't recommend her enough!
