About Me
Hi, I am 30 years old, i am one of five children, all of my siblings were younger than me. Throughout my childhood i had to care for my siblings whilst my mum and dad went out to work.
From the year 2013 - 2014 at the age of 23, I cared for my younger brother for a short while. I really enjoyed doing this at this time, I found that caring became so natural to me - I then made the decision to became a full-time carer. I wanted to transfer the skills i had gained from my own personal life experiences, and put them into practice.
I would describe myself as a caring, compassionate individual, i know a lot about the care system and really take pride in my work and what i do. Although i already have four years experience, i am keen to develop my skills and take on new challenges. Hence why I am wanting to gain experience in nanny work.
My Experience
My first care role was at the Derby Royal hospital, where i worked as a bank nurse on a variety of wards, these included mental health, elderly, and pediatric wards. After this i then went on to work in a residential home working as a Health Care Assistant.
I came away from adult care after 1 year, and began working with children and young people in 2015. I worked in a five bedroom children's home. The children's home was a self harm home, this role involved dealing with children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties. During my time here i built positive relationships with the young people, and was able to manage their behaviours successfully.
Alongside this, i worked at various other children's homes. The children were ASD diagnosed and on the autistic spectrum. I did this to gain a wide range of experience, i particularly enjoyed travelling to different homes, as each day was so different to the next.
My most recent role involved supporting young people aged 16-18. These children were homeless or had left a previous residential setting due to age, or other complex circumstances. We provided them with a service which encouraged independent living skills. All our young people were supported to health appointments, education and training was also strongly promoted.

My Availability
I am looking to return back to work on a part -time basis due to having my first born in April. I am available Monday -Friday with an immediate start.
Occasional weekends will be considered, when informed in advance.
