Worse experience

Reviewed

Tina has been such a waste of time for our family.
Came to the interview and was offered the position, she accepted it.
Came to the nursery to be introduced and finally one week prior her start date (when I am due to come back to work) she sent me a text saying that she did not wanted the position anymore. I guess a phone call would have been too much..

Having been informed of this review by my employer's & without my prior knowledge it had existed I felt under the circumstances that I needed to clarify a few facts.. Throughout the years & of now I remain to be extremely honest & reliable whereas my written references will clarify.. May I say that I was offered the job at the interview with this family provisionally & it was arranged to meet the following day & not one week later as stated to see the nursery location, whilst I had received this information sent via text the day after my interview & not given the address to the nursery prior.... Upon looking up the nursery location that morning it appeared extremely far but as I had arranged to go that afternoon to meet the parent I thought it was only right to attend. I took 2 buses & walked a further 15 minutes to reach the nursery
destination total travel just over 1 hour, once there I realised this position with the family was not for myself & mentioned to the parent that I will need to consider further due to the travelling, she explained that she intended to go back to work the following week to my surprise as this was not mentioned at our initial interview the day prior, I actually started to feel pressured & whilst I was asked to accompany her back to her home I declined. I personally feel that any person's the employer or employee should have the right to decline a position if they are not 100% happy especially if a contract has not been signed.
The following day early morning I telephoned & got no reply from the mother & therefore I left a polite message explaining my overall concerns along with stating that I would not be taking the position offered & wished her well.
I received hour's later a very disturbing text message on my mobile whereas I actually contacted childcare via email.
Please note under no circumstances was it my intention to reply to this negative comment but as I am a long standing member with excellent references behind me I felt it extremely necessary.
