About Me

I am 42 years old, I am married and have two children, both girls, one aged 8 and my eldest is 21 years old. I have been an Ofsted registered childminder for 7 years now. I am accredited and my recent ofsted inspection outcome July 2019 was Outstanding. I am loving running my own business and doing a job that I am passionate about at the same time. I left my job as a level three teaching assistant at Redwood special school in Rochdale on the twelfth of January 2012. A job that I also loved but decided it was time for a change and with the arrival of my youngest I saw an opportunity to be able to work from home and spend time with my girls. My home is smoke free, we have a large enclosed garden with play equipment and a dedicated play room with lots of educational toys and equipment, I offer activities such as messy play, water play, music, dance and other age appropriate activities. I attend sure start groups and various playgroups every week, we also visit the local library, local parks and soft play centres. My aim is to offer a rich and varied timetable in order to keep children interested and engaged. I now work with an apprentice who is a valuable member of staff and has enabled me to make further improvements to the service I offer. Megan is enthusiastic and the children think she's Great she is currently doing her level 2 in the childrens and young peoples workforce diploma and is just about to finish this. Megan is a young mum and has a passion for watching children grow and develop.

My son went to Sarah’s from when he was 11 months old until he was 2 and a half, the only reason he stopped going to Sarah’s was because we moved from the area. He absolutely loved going there, so much so that he often didn’t want to come home when I picked him up at the end of the day!

Sarah took on her daughter Megan as an apprentice during Oliver’s time there and he formed close bonds with both of them. They both treated Oliver as though he was family and I feel that they genuinely cared for him. We were very sad to take Oliver out of this setting as he was very happy there.

Oliver came on leaps and bounds during his time with Sarah, he was slow to start speaking and Sarah helped us with developing his speech and also offered support and advise to me as I was concerned at the time. I would highly recommend this setting to anyone.

My son started with sarah aged 10 months right through to starting school. I cannot put into words how fabulous she is. Starting with offering transition visits to get used to going ( and helped me to leave him) right through to providing a special aspirations leaving day and party. He loved going to sarah's house. The planning that she puts into her activities and the range of diffrent activities and equipment really pays off. My son has come on so much and has a wealth of knowledge that has stood him in good grounds for starting school. She really cares for the children she looks after and i know my son misses going. X

Thank you for such a lovely review, it was great to see you both recently. I cannot believe how tall he has got! We miss having him and look forward to seeing you again soon. It was a privilege to be able to contribute to his learning and development and an absolute pleasure working with you and your family.

Sarah has looked after our daughter for 4 years now. Sarah always has activities planned which are age appropriate for the kids in her care. Our daughter has grown up with Sarah looking after her and is treated as a member if our family too. We fully trust Sarah to look after our daughter and would recommend anyone to go and take a look at her house..... Especially the mud kitchen it's great . Sarah also has a well formatted communication system which works on our phones so we can always see our daughter's progress and a diary system which helps to look back at the type of day she has had.

Thankyou, such a lovely review. Always a pleasure looking after your little lady.

I would not hesitate to recommend Sarah. She has provided an extremely high standard of care to my children and I am thankful for the lengths she went to. Sarah made sure the children always had plenty to do whether it was playing with toys, making crafts or trips out. She was conscious of activities which may assist learning. Sarah kept me fully informed via the ‘Babydays’ diary system which allowed me to see in detail what they had done on a particular day. Both my children were very happy with Sarah and were sad to leave.

Thankyou for your lovely review, It was an absolute pleasure looking after your children.

Sarah looked after my daughter ( now 3) for 2 years full time after I returned to work from Maternity leave. From day 1 she was treated like a part of her family and developed so much at the same time. I would not hesitate to recommend Sarah's House to anyone looking for a reliable and affordable childcare provider, my little girl was always so happy to be there, and we still come back for visits to keep in touch!
