Eliza
Nanny in York (also available for babysitting)
My Summary
About Me
Hi, I'm Eliza. I'm a level 6 qualified nanny and nursery nurse with a fun, gentle approach that respects children as individuals. I'm originally from Warwickshire but now live in York with my husband, two sons and pets. I am responsible, caring and creative with a silly sense of humour and a lot of patience. In my spare time I do lots of knitting, and I also enjoy painting, baking, gardening, hiking and all things outdoorsy.
Just like the children I care for, I have a lot of energy and I don't like to sit in front of screens all day, I would much rather be playing, making things together, going for walks, playing music together, building things or doing any other sort of fun activity that follows the interests of your children as they learn and develop.
I have extensive experience working as a nursery nurse, deputy nursery manager, teaching assistant and a nanny with children from birth to 11 years, and I love working with children across all age groups. I have worked with children who are learning English as an additional language, and with a wide variety of SEND and SEMH needs through jobs and volunteering, and have particular experience with children with ADHD and autism.
I also know some makaton as I use this with my young children to support their communication.
I would be happy to prepare age-appropriate meals for children, and to help keep your home clean and tidy. I would also be more than happy to work in homes with pets and help with their care.
My Experience
I have worked as a teaching assistant and after school care leader, and as a nanny for several different families with young children including infant twins. I have also worked as a nursery nurse and nursery deputy manager for children between 3 months and 5 years old, and have volunteered in a school/nursery for children with complex SEND. (I loved it there!).
In addition to my professional experience I am also a mum to two lovely boys, one of whom has additional needs.
My Qualifications
Level 3 NVQ in childcare (Early Years Educator)
BA Hons Development and Education of Children Young People and Families from York St Johns University. (Foundation degree followed by top up degree). 1st class.
Paediatric first aid.
Safeguarding awareness training.
Various CPD achievements including empathic behaviour management, diabetes care, allergy awareness, phonics, outdoor education, and alternative models of education including Montessori and Steiner Waldorf.
My Availability
I can be flexible with my hours for the right family provided I am able to arrange for appropriate care for my children. Currently my youngest child only attends nursery on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday so I would generally not be available on Mondays or Fridays unless I were to bring the baby to work with me, however I would consider changing the days he attends or extending his hours to attend 4 days if my earnings allowed for this.
With advance notice I would also be available for occasional evening babysitting on Thursdays, Fridays, or Saturdays.
My Fees
- Babysitting from £14.00 per hour
- Nannying from £15.00 per hour (gross)
My fees are flexible depending on the kind of care required and number of hours.
My Documents
- DBS Check (added 17/07/2019)
- Training Certificate: Level 3 apprenticeship certificate (added 17/07/2019)

Eliza has been looking after our (currently 9 month old) twins for the past couple of months, both shared charge and sole charge. The twins really like her and she's a very calm and gentle presence even when one (or both!!) twins are in need of attention! The twins have enjoyed days out with her, and she has been very accommodating working to their/our routine and trying to keep the twins as in sync as possible! I would happily recommend her to anyone looking for a caring nanny for their little one(s).
