Hi I am Monique Primarily was a level 3/ SEN Teaching assistant. However more recently have been an au pair.
If you have a specific need or just over care for your children please ask further..
Children are my passion and cannot imagine life or not working with them! From nursery to KS2 my experience is varied and would give my all into your children, there progress and learning.
Experience of supporting children in a learning environment
I have been involved in a wide range of activities working from nursery to key stage 2. I have undertaken a variety of tasks such as, working to develop basic skills with smalls groups of children. I also work on specific programmes with SEN and D children and provide feedback on their progress to the relative professionals.
I feel I relate well with children of all ages and I am able to treat them with care and compassion whilst maintaining the firm but fair approach. In the course of my daily duties I communicate with parents and professionals and understand the importance of safeguarding and confidentiality.
Safeguarding is paramount at all times! I have been trained in safeguarding by Ian Clennell for a number of years now and he has also delivered refresher courses with my latest training being October 2017. I feel that it is of great importance to be aware of the designated safeguarding officer within a school, on a daily basis, should an emergency arise.
Knowledge of national/foundation curriculum
I have been working within Early Years Foundation stage for most of my time within schools and although I am fully aware of the curriculum, I do understand that each school will work in their own way. I am quick to learn and adapt accordingly. I have enjoyed working within nursery this year for the first time and have gained not only experience but skills such as Makaton which I hopefully can continue.
Experience of classroom organisation
My experience within the classroom includes working with children to produce work for the displays boards. This can be within the classroom or throughout the school. I use my own ICT skills to make captions, labels and certificates. I recently organised the new delivery of Oxford Reading Tree books into school and organised the complete school reading scheme.
Experience of administrative and clerical duties in a school or office environment
Throughout my pervious roles, I have been responsible for accompanying various classes on trips and in charge of small and greater groups of children. I have also been accountable for collecting the money and keeping a record of the payments and personal information received back, which at all times would be kept locked away for safeguarding reasons. I am also familiar and capable of the laminating machine and photocopier.
First Aid Training
I have completed both first aid and defibrillator training and maintained my knowledge through refresher courses. I now feel I have the skills and confidence in both these areas. I also have had First aid training through Girl Guiding at All Saints Church.
Experience of working in Nursery
I have attended SEND forums to share and gather information with other professionals and gained new knowledge and skills to improve my practise. During my recent position, within Archibald First School nursery, I worked with a non verbal child, and found the use of Makaton a crucial way to communicate. I found my experience of nursery extremely rewarding yet challenging. I also gained experience of children with challenging behaviour, and was able to put in place, reward systems, which the children responded well to.
Outside of school, I am a qualified girl guiding leader and Assistant leader at the 18th Brownie pack at All Saints Church. During our weekly meetings, we enjoy usual brownie activities, as well as fundraising and supporting All Saints Church in a variation of ways such as, church parade, Parish BBQ, Christmas fete.
