My name is Rada and I run Tiny Explorers Childminding based in Chichester. I am Ofsted registered childminder with more than 15 years of experience of working with children of different ages.
I grew up in Croatia and moved to the UK over 15 years ago when I went to Chichester College as part of my degree course. I met my husband, during this time who was born in Chichester and although we lived in London for some time we soon moved back to Chichester. We now have two children aged 5 and 3. They are very sociable and inquisitive little girls who love having their minds busy and challenged.
I provide a high quality childcare in a safe, secure and friendly ‘just like home' setting. We live in a large three-bedroom house with a large and secure back garden which has a big playhouse and slide, mud kitchen, sensory play area, water wall, herb garden, sandpit, fairy garden and space for tricycles and games. We also have a decent size allotment at the back of the garden where we grow vegetables which has proved to be very effective in encouraging children to eat a whole variety of healthy new foods. We have a purpose set up playroom and a safe and secure garden for access to the outdoors.
I believe that the home environment is the most natural place for children to learn and develop. Your child will thrive and learn through play together with mine and other children, leaving you safe in the knowledge that your child will be very happy and well cared for whilst having a great time doing activities based on their age and development. The activities and resources are planned to meet each child’s individual needs and to cover the different developmental areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
I am a strong advocate of Montessori educational views and believe that every child has potential to do superb things with the right support and stimulating environment. An open-ended play, fun free flow environment and child led play is of crucial importance. Montessori principles say that children learn best in a natural home environment doing everyday tasks within mixed age groups. Younger children learn from the older ones and older children learn to take care of the younger ones whilst learning patience and developing their emotional intelligence.
Being a mum of two I understand how hard it is to leave your child in the care of someone else and therefore I work closely with parents to tailor and develop a learning environment that will meet the needs of every child. As a mum and a teacher, I am very experienced in creating ways to help children develop, learn and flourish in the most stimulating, nurturing, warm and supportive environment. We go on regular outings to playgroups, parks, the library, countryside, meet other childminders and we visit various local activity centres where the children can mix with other children.
When I was working full-time and my children were in a nursery I craved more detailed feedback about their day, the activities that they had taken part in and the things that they had learnt. Unfortunately, all I would get was snippets of information which is why I like to ensure that parents get detailed daily feedback and know what their little ones are up to.
I’m very passionate about healthy eating, cooking, the environment, recycling, up-cycling, growing your own food, being outdoors and doing little science projects and experiments and will embrace it in my daily activities with the children.
I currently have full and part time vacancies for 0-13 years olds.
I offer wrap around care for Parklands Community Primary School.
I offer 2, 3 & 4 year old funded places and I do accept childcare vouchers, tax free childcare and tax credits.
I'd love to hear about your little ones so please do contact me to arrange a chat.
I have more than 15 years of experience of working with children of different ages, being a nursery practitioner, teacher, tutor and recently a lecturer at Kingston University which I believe is a great asset in my provision.
After many years of working with early years and school children I moved to further education where I taught childcare courses to nursery staff and independent childminders, also I was a lecturer at Kingston University where I taught a Foundation Degree in Early Years to nursery practitioners and managers. I have a MA in Education and therefore have an excellent knowledge and understanding of child development and learning.
I am a fully trained Early Years Teacher and also have a Masters Degree in Education.
Alongside my degrees I have completed many additional courses to keep me up-to date with the policies and the changes in the educational sector. Some of the courses I have completed recently were Safeguarding Children, Food Hygiene, Paediatric First Aid, EYFS, How to support children on the Autistic Spectrum and How to Support Dyslexic Learners.
Note: All original documents will be shown during the visit
From January 2020 I will have one EYFS place available on Mondays and Thursdays

My experience with Rada has been exemplary. She provides a profesional care services in a family environment. My toddler arrives and leaves with a smile on his faces. He is provided with a range of learning experiences, both inside and outside.
