My Experience
With over 2 years experience, I have had the privilege of tutoring several students, specialising in GCSE Maths, SATs and 11+ entrance exams. Currently, I tutor students aged 9 to 16 through my tutoring business, StudySmart Tutoring.
I am very academically-orientated, and hold education as a top priority, both for my students and myself. As a result, I am continuously dedicated to remaining at the forefront of educational best practices by participate in ongoing training:
- Recognised for my commitment to excellence, I have attained Certified Tutor Status through Myelin Academia. This achievement reflects a strong grasp of both the theoretical concepts and practical applications of tutoring, and underscores my dedication to upholding and maintaining high standards of tuition.
- I have completed the Myelin Academia Level 3 Award in Tutor Training Theory, which is centred around Psychological Research, Executive Skills & Educational Techniques (and Good Practice).
Using the knowledge I have gained from my training, I strive to create engaging and enjoyable tutoring sessions where my students remain engaged throughout. To achieve this, I employ various interactive techniques, such as:
- using a palette of vibrant colours on my digital whiteboard
- integrating educational games and videos within the lesson
- creating fun and colourful worksheets for every lesson
And because all my students are different, I meticulously craft individualised lesson plans tailored to each student's unique needs and goals, ensuring that we target specific areas for improvement and maintain steady progress along the way.
Finally, whether it's celebrating correct answers with a virtual clap, whiteboard stars or sharing the students' remarkable progress and amazing work with parents, I consistently dedicate time to recognise and reward my students' efforts. This serves to bolster their confidence and foster a belief in their own abilities.
