About Me
I am an experienced primary school teacher who has worked with all ages from Early Years up until Year 6. I have experience working with all aspects of the primary curriculum, particularly reading and phonics, as well as, Key Stage tests and phonics screening. I currently work part time in a local primary school and have previously private tutored privately and tutored small groups within schools. I have experience working with children with additional needs and ensuring learning is pitched at the correct level for them with the appropriate equipment to support to ensure their confidence improves as well as their ability. Teachings is my passion and I enjoy equipping children with new strategies and ways to learn to ensure they can meet their potential. I always tailor the children’s learning to their needs and interests to ensure they experience success and have an enjoyable and fun lesson. I am organised, approachable and friendly and always develop a good supportive relationship with the children. My sessions are flexible and I can support with homework or a more structured support to help with reading, writing or the maths curriculum at home in a familiar and comfortable home environment or virtually.
My Experience
I have over 14 years experience working in primary schools in Surrey from Early Years up until Year Six. During this time I have consistently ensured progress for my students. I have previously been awarded a Specialist Leader of Education in Phonics and I have lead EYFS, Key Stage 1, as well as, leading reading and writing across the school. During my career I have worked with many children with additional needs and have a lot of experience in ensuring all child make progress and achieve success by making sure their learning is pitched carefully at the right level and a highly personalised approach.
