Hello, my name is Jess! I am an energic, fun and caring person. I have lived and studied in Edinburgh all my life. I am a trained paediatric nurse, dance teacher and nursery practitioner. I have very recent experience working in an early years education nursery. I am a calm and gentle-natured person who enjoys caring for children of all ages. I'm experienced in creating developmentally appropriate opportunities for play and learning. I pride myself on being empathetic and patient, as well as being able to remain calm in stressful situations.
My Experience
I completed my nursing training in 2021 and worked for two years in the paediatric ICU. After leaving nursing to train in early years education, I have recent experience working in a private nursery in the toddler and baby rooms. I am comfortable caring for children of all ages. I currently teach various styles of dance and teach children from 2.5 years to 18 years. I have extensive experience caring for children with a variety of health conditions, dietary restrictions, and additional needs. I have cared for children from newborn to 18 years, I feel confident identifying infant cues and caring for their needs. My daily activities as a nanny include preparing educationally and engaging activities, caring for the needs of children such as nappy changes/ assisting with potty training, meal preparation and maintaining a safe play environment.
My Qualifications
I am a qualified dance teacher, in acrobatics and ballet. I have a BN in child health, and currently studying to achieve a Level 3 SVQ in childcare.
My Availability
I am available on weekdays, and with notice at the weekends also.
