Hi, My name is Issy and I will soon be graduating from university and be moving home to Ashford to begin my new graduate life! I will be working as an SEN teaching assistant during the day, but would love to spend time out of work helping others. During university, I looked after two wonderful girls (4 & 6), one who had profound hearing problems and delayed learning. I absolutely adored these girls and spent a lot of time with them (days at a time, staying over-night) and the skills I have learnt from this and experience gained from this I would love to continue and share with others.
I also have 10 years experience volunteering as a leader with Girl Guiding UK, working with girls between the ages of 4 and 17.
The last 4 years (during my undergraduate) I spent the summer in the USA being a synchronised swimming coach and "counselor" for girls and boys aged 5-17 years. I specialized with working with the younger years (5-7) the last few years, but have a lot of experience with all ages.
I spent 8 months as a teaching assistant working with complex SEN, and year 3 pupil with newly diagnosed and uncontrolled epilepsy.
I also gained a full first aid at work qualification with defib and partook in a course on parental separation.
I'm experienced in looking after children with medical needs such as type 1 diabetes, epilepsy and asthma.
I have experience of all ages and abilities and would hate to spend my school holidays and time off alone when there are children wanting to learn, grow and explore.
I have a full DBS whilst working in a primary school (2016). I will be getting another DBS this April before beginning my job at a special needs school. I have a full "first aid at work" qualification with defib. I also have a full driving liscence.
I am free all of April (2019) and then as of July 2019 ( post graduation) I will be home and working at a disabled school during the day (9am-3pm) but apart from that I have no other commitments (happy to do after school and evening work, any weekend or overnight work) during the summer (July-September) I have no holidays or commitments booked and will therefore be available near enough 24/7 throughout the holidays.
