About Me

Hello, my name is Aimee. I am a fun, energetic 28 year old who has been professionally working with children for 11 years and counting in jobs such as; a Children’s Entertainer, Early Years Practitioner and a Professional Nanny. I also have years of experience being an Awesome Auntie to my three Nieces & Nephew (Newborn, 10 & 12 years old)

I run my own business called “Auntie Aimee’s Childcare” and currently provide childcare for lots of local families in areas such as Witterings, Bosham, Birdham, and more! So I have great knowledge of the Chichester area and access to my own vehicle. Ages of children range from 8 months to 13 years old currently.

I am also an animal lover and have cared for many dogs throughout my life. My previous Nannying job role required me to care for a Labrador and a very large Irish Wolfhound !!

I do my best to assist families and help out when a sitter is required! At this moment in time I only offer ad-hoc childcare services and cannot to commit to anything on a permanent/fixed weekly basis.

I look forward to hearing from you!

My Experience

When I’m not providing childcare in the local area I am Children’s Entertainer at “Jiggy Wrigglers Chichester” running parent and toddler music and movement classes. This involves lots of fun, high energy dancing, puppets and running a different themed session each week like ‘Dinosaurs’, ‘Under the Sea’, ‘Jungle’ and many more!
I also visit Chichester nurseries and take my puppets and silly dance moves there for weekday sessions.

Before I become a Professional “Wiggler” I was a full time Nanny for a local family for 2 years, starting when the child was 2 years old.
During my time as a Nanny, I provided a fun, positive learning environment at home, as well as exciting outings each week - including toddler classes, library visits and exciting trips to places, such as, 'Fishers Farm', plus lots more that tap into learning through play.
On a daily basis, I planned and undertook activities to develop little minds, from hand/finger painting to an exciting bug hunt around the garden. I kept track of little ones development (Similar to a nursery setting), completing 'Next Steps' and a 'Learning Journal', so the parents were included every step of the way. I also kept a 'Daily Diary' where I kept a record of toileting, what had been eaten throughout the day, sleep, etc.
I keep in regular contact with the family even though I no longer work with them and still have a positive “friendship” with my charge, who I still babysit for on occasion.

As mentioned in my “About Me” section, I have worked in several nurseries and preschool settings, such as The Little Blue Door, Puddleducks Day Nursery and Waterlillies Preschool, experiencing a range of different ages. I have worked with babies as young as 3 months and children ready for school, aged 5.
I am no stranger to a toileting accident or the sound of a Lego box being tipped upside down. I am calm and coolheaded when dealing with children and ensure I connect with them at their level, being a fun and positive role model.

The best part about working alongside children is watching them develop into a cool little person each and everyday, every child being unique to one another and never failing to put a smile on an adults face!

We have worked with Aimee for some time, initially in a nursery setting and lately as a private nanny in our home. She is highly attentive to the needs of the child, and the entire family. Her experience is wide and deep and we have benefited from her kind and supportive learning for our child for some years. The 121 attention our child has received in the home has been hugely beneficial to his development.
Aimee is highly organised, very trustworthy, always punctual and very accommodating to anything asked of her.
She has been brilliant in supporting our child’s development, even through the challenging lockdowns of late, and finds new and engaging ways of delivering learning through play, tasks and adventures inside and outside the home.
Aimee also takes the well-being of a child very seriously applying a holistic approach of learning, good nutrition and lots of outdoor play and activity (even in the rain!)
We hope to continue working with Aimee as our child transitions to school, and would highly recommend her to any family looking for a kind, attentive, and experienced nanny.
