About Me

Hello, my name is Aimee. I am an enthusiastic, passionate Nanny, who has been working with children for the past 10 years, from a Party Host to Early Years Practitioner to becoming a Private Nanny.
I have my Level 2 and Level 3 in Early Years education. Alongside a qualification in "Understanding Autism" and I complete my Paediatric First Aid training every three years.
I am looking to bring a nursery environment to a home (and yes, that means lots of exciting, messy activities and wide range of outdoor exploring). Including exciting trips out into the world, like a picnic in the park or a trip to the farm. I believe it’s important that children go out into the world explore after the year 2020!
I would like to start a new personal bond with not only the children, but with parents/families too!
The best thing about working with children is, no matter how bad your day is, a child will never fail to make you laugh or put a smile on your face.
Please continuing reading for my previous experiences, reviews and current availability. I look forward to hearing from you :)

My Experience

Since July 2020, I have been a Private Nanny for a little one who is nearly ready to make their transition from me to nursery, in preparation for school in September.
During my time as a Nanny, I have provided a fun, positive learning environment at home, as well as exciting outings each week - including toddler classes, such as, 'Jiggy Wrigglers' - a fun music and movement class, great for physical development and exciting trips to places, such as, 'Fishers Farm'.
On a daily basis, I plan and undertake activities to develop little minds, from hand/finger painting to an exciting bug hunt around the garden. I keep track of little ones development, completing 'Next Steps' and a 'Learning Journal', so the parents are included every step of the way and they can see all the fun learning and developing we complete together. I also keep a 'Daily Diary' where I keep a record of toileting, what has been eaten throughout the day, sleep, etc.
I have worked throughout my childcare experience using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to observe children and develop their learning in the 7 key areas of development. I have a wide range of knowledge in regards to providing fun, learning experiences for children and know how to support children through the various stages of the EYFS, used in OFSTED Registered childcare settings.

Before I began my journey as a Nanny, I have worked in several nurseries and preschool settings, such as The Little Blue Door, Puddleducks Day Nursery and Waterlillies Preschool, experiencing a range of different ages. I have worked with babies as young as 3 months and children ready for school, aged 5. I also have personal experience as I have an amazing niece and nephew, who are 11 and 9 years old.
I am no stranger to a toileting accident or the sound of a Lego box being tipped upside down. I am calm and coolheaded when dealing with children and ensure I connect with them at their level, being a fun and positive role model.
The best part of being a Nanny is having that personal learning experience, meaning I am able to put all my care and focus to ensure little one is always growing. The best way to learn as a toddler is always through fun and play!

We have worked with Aimee for some time, initially in a nursery setting and lately as a private nanny in our home. She is highly attentive to the needs of the child, and the entire family. Her experience is wide and deep and we have benefited from her kind and supportive learning for our child for some years. The 121 attention our child has received in the home has been hugely beneficial to his development.
Aimee is highly organised, very trustworthy, always punctual and very accommodating to anything asked of her.
She has been brilliant in supporting our child’s development, even through the challenging lockdowns of late, and finds new and engaging ways of delivering learning through play, tasks and adventures inside and outside the home.
Aimee also takes the well-being of a child very seriously applying a holistic approach of learning, good nutrition and lots of outdoor play and activity (even in the rain!)
We hope to continue working with Aimee as our child transitions to school, and would highly recommend her to any family looking for a kind, attentive, and experienced nanny.
