About Me
I’m a professional 27 years old Early Years teacher qualified in Spain, with QTS obtained in the UK. I'm currently working as supply teacher across a primary school, and run a dance club after school. I'm an empathetic, reliable and caring person looking for a week day/weekend or half term babysitting, nanny position or tutoring role.
I previously worked in a nursery and a language school in Brighton and Oxford. I have experience in working in schools in Spain and France as well as I studied an academic year in Paris. I have held different teaching positions in variety of education settings and abroad, working with a range of children aged 2-11 including children with SEN.
I’m native Spanish and fluent in English and French. I love learning languages and the idea of involving these with young children. I strongly believe they have a great impact at early ages and we have to make the most of it!
My Experience
I have always been passionate for children. I hold a clear, full, enhanced DBS and an up to date Paediatric first aid certificate.
I have gained a lot of patience throughout my experiences working with children of all ages, which helps me to handle difficult and stressful situations. I have great sense of empathy and sensitivity as I can put myself on someone else’s shoes, getting involved and trying to help as best as I can.
I’m aware that all children learn differently and therefore need tailored, individualised support. In my current job and in previous years I used resources to support understanding and provide scaffolding to learning. I’m also conscious of recent developments within primary education in the UK and I’m familiar with the national curriculum. I often plan and teach phonics lessons at the school encouraging children to be familiar with common sounds, being able to decode and access texts afterwards but also read for enjoyment.
I’m currently developing an Early Language intervention programme in school to help young children overcome language difficulties and promote longer-term progress in reading comprehension. It targets vocabulary, narrative skills, active listening and phonological awareness.
