Hello, I am Sarah – a 24-year-old teacher from Scotland. I have a teaching degree and lots of experience with primary and infant aged children.
My passion lies with caring for children while nurturing their learning and holistic development. My core values are interwoven with respect, honesty, fairness and building positive relationships with families I work with. These valuable qualities can be seen clearly within my practice around children as I believe that they are likely to mirror these attributes, resulting in positive behaviours in a variety of situations.
Around your child, my primary focus will be to build a positive relationship. First and foremost, this comes with trust and creating a safe and secure environment. I believe that at a young age, the home setting is the best place for this bond to be established. While respecting the family environment and keeping the child’s sense of security and stability in mind, I will not be afraid to bring new ideas to the table and will use my initiative to widen the possibilities of enjoyment and learning.
My previous work and experience centres around childcare and education. I have successfully studied for 4 years as a Primary School Teacher in Scotland and have a further 2 years of qualified experience within this career. Furthermore, I have taken on roles as a nanny for families whereby I have used my skills and knowledge in their home. My experience has given me the opportunity to care for children aged 2-12, including multiple children at a time. In the past, I have created fun, hands-on experiences which promote play, inquisitive questioning, outdoor learning, imaginative storytelling, role-play, exploration and more. Furthermore, I am able to manage housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, daily routines and other requests relevant to the job. I love my work and take pride in the positive impact I can have on children’s lives.
