My Summary
About Me
I am gentle, assertive, patient, organised and hardworking in all I do. The majority of my career so far has been child focused and I have loved every moment of it.
I began volunteering with children from the age of 12 and instantly knew it was the career path I was going to take.
Between the ages of 11 and 15, I was a young carer, which was both challenging and rewarding. During these years, I had to learn to clean, cook, look after myself and another person. Although this is was not an ideal situation for a child to be in, I developed a wide range of skills that I am grateful for now including; a passion for others, empathy, practical skills, selflessness, and the ability to communicate with people of all ages and stages of life.
I gained my Level 3 Childcare qualification in 2017 when I was working at a Preschool and Nursery where I was known as 'Auntie G'. I really enjoyed learning and loved building relationships with all of my key children and their families.
I worked 8-6 Monday-Friday and therefore also took on board the setting up of the nursery, cleaning and packing down at the start and end of each day.
I currently lodge with a family who have two children. I have really become more of a lodger and part of the family. As stated in my availability, I care for these children 2 days a week.
Being part of a Church here in East Grinstead, I am very integrated in the community and many of my friends have young families who I love to provide practical support to wherever possible.
