About Me
My name is Leah and I am a very fun and bubbly person. I am currently studying to be an ESL teacher and would love to gain more experience in the the child care industry. I love the outdoors and like to keep my self busy with lots of activities such as the gym, cooking and seeing my friends in my spare time. In my future I hope to Travel and teach English to students internationally as I can overlap my favourite hobby and ideal job! I love learning about different cultures and experiencing different walks of life.
My Experience
I used to babysit for a boy named Samual (age 4) and his older sister Nicole (age 13). My duties when looking after the children were to provide a sufficient night time routine and cook their meals on an evening. When the kids were asleep I usually tended to do some light house work which wasn’t required, but I was quite happy to do so as their mum wouldn’t have any extra jobs in the morning.
I also babysit frequently for my three cousins which I have the same routine. Two girls ( age 8 and 4) and one boy (age 3). As I also babysit through the day with my cousins, it allows us all more freedom to do activities through the day such as trips the park, taking the dogs out on walks and playing games throughout the day. I also often help them with their homework and encourage their growth both academically and with their confidence.
I have also been an Aupair for two children in Italy, I lived with the family for a total of three months and had the most amazing time! The children were 12 and 8, one boy and one girl,( also the most amazing dog Kiera). I spent a lot of time with the children and I view them now as family! My role was very flexible and i was required to improve the English but also offer the best care for them. This amazing opportunity allowed me to gain a greater perspective on childcare and allowed my love for the career to grow professionally.
I am currently waiting for my DBS check to arrive so I can volunteer part-time in a primary school near my house. I have also had offers to volunteer in high school which would be an complete difference experience.
My Qualifications
I passed all my GCSE’s with 5’s-7’s
For my A-Levels I got;
A in Law
B in business
C English literature
I am have also qualified for a level 5 168 hour combined TEFL qualification
My Availability
From the 30th of November I will be available all times.
When I start volunteering and receive my DBS I will need one free week-day but I am able to choose the day I go in so my time- table is flexible.
