Our aim at Our Monkey Club is to provide a stimulating, motivating, warm and supportive environment for the children in our care and pride ourselves in becoming a favourite place for the children. The most important feedback we receive is the excitement the children express when coming to play.
We are a Graduate led, Ofsted registered setting (EY451196) providing inclusive and family based care for up to 40 children based at Donisthorpe Primary School, Swadlincote and we open between 7am and 7pm - Monday to Friday, 50 weeks a year (Closed for 2 weeks at Christmas).
No pre-set fee structure - book only what you need with 2 hour minimum per session charged at £4.00 per hour. We offer day care, preschool funded sessions, before school, after school and holiday club and all our children are together from 9 months to 12 years.
We offer 15 hours Funded Early Education Entitlement places for all 3 and 4 year olds which is completely FREE to you and we have been accepted to pilot the new 2 year old funding for 15 hours government funding care for all parents eligible.
We always ask families that are thinking of joining us to come and see us. We are very different to a traditional nursery and we will either suit your family or we will support your search for care that will.
All our children are cared for together and all practitioners work with all children throughout their time at Our Monkey Club. From 9 months to 12 years old the children play together and the older children learn to be considerate to the younger children and the younger children learn from the older children as they would in real life. Our setting hopes to provide the experiences a child has within a family situation.
The children direct their own learning and are encouraged to be highly independent. We love watching children learn and those moments when children are so involved and focused that you can almost hear their brains whirling. That only happens when children are completely motivated by their learning and that only happens what children are making their own choices in their learning.
Our highly trained practitioners are all on a national recognised qualification pathway to ultimately gain their Early Years Professional Status and all practitioners are expected to be committed to a career in working with children and young people. All practitioners are expected to attend supervision with a graduate practitioner for 1 hours a week and partake in continual professional development in addition to their qualifications.
