My Summary

My Experience

Over the last 5 years, I have had a lot of experience with children from birth to 12 years old. As part of my college course, I worked at a children's centre in Luton called Flying Starts. This involved various responsibilities such as, supporting a baby weigh in session and mainly working in a play setting encourging positive interactions between parent and child.

I have worked as a Teaching Assistant in Luton for over 2 years and is my present day time job. I have worked in early years, year 1 and year 2. I have different approaches to teaching that promote engagement and interest in subjects. I find it crucial to adopt a holistic approach when working with a designated student. This will highlight stratergies that are effective and benefical to the individual child's active learning.

I have experience with child care also. I am very creative and enjoy to do fun activities with children such as arts & crafts, baking cakes and playing fun board games. My main priority when caring for a child, is to ensure they feel safe and comfortable. It can sometimes be daunting for children to meet a new person. In the past, when I have first met a child before I have done an 'all about me' session. This enables the child to know who I am, my hobbies and other little facts. I personally found it a great activity for introducing myself and creating a good relationship with the child.

Lastly, I have experience of working as a cleaner for over 3 years. I am confident in the role.

My Qualifications

11 GCSE's (Grade C or above awarded, including Maths and English)
Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Distinction awarded)
BA Hons in Health and Social Care (2:1 awarded)
Training with Herts for Learning : Focusing on professional-child interactions and communication.
