About Me
Hello! I'm a first year student at the University of Exeter studying International Relations. I love spending time with children have lots of childcare experience. I am very friendly and tend to have a great relationship with the children I look after.
Before starting university I took a gap year where I worked for 6 months, spent 3 months volunteering/backpacking in Central America and finally worked at a kids summer camp in the USA for 2 months!
My Experience
In my last couple of years at school, I volunteered at a local primary school where I would spend time helping children aged 5-7 practice their reading and building their confidence. I really enjoyed seeing their progress and forming a bond with the kids.
I spent the 2022 summer working as a boat driver/lifeguard at a summercamp in the USA. This meant I spent all day with kids aged 8-16 and was responsible for their safety as well as ensuring they had lots of fun! When I wasn't working on the boat I looked after the 10/11 year old girls who I lived in a bunk with. We formed a very close bond and I became very used to helping with the wide range of challenges kids face.
After camp, I went on to stay with relatives and spent a lot of my time looking after their children who were aged 4-10. As well as this, I have lots of experience babysitting for friends and family at home.
