I am a gap year student who is off to university next year to study medicine and is passionate about working with children.
My Experience
I developed a love of working with children through volunteering with my local Beavers group, but also through babysitting children of a range of ages. Interacting with children during play activities designed to broaden their minds and teach them new skills was a key part of my role, and something I thoroughly enjoyed.
I believe that all children regardless of ability or displays of challenging behavior should be nurtured and appreciated in order to fulfil their full potential and in lieu of this have completed two introductory courses on Understanding Autism and Understanding ADHD in order to elevate my understanding of both conditions and also consequent behavior management techniques. Aside from English, I have the basic understanding of several other languages as well as principles of first-aid and nutrition.
