About Me
I have been a Children's Social Worker for the last 3 years, however am now looking for part-time work whilst I complete my law degree. I am a bubbly and approachable 25 year old female who loves working with children and young-people and has had extensive experience of working with children of all ages. I am creative and active and enjoy finding new ways to engage the children I work with to ensure that they get the most out of our time together. I also have previous experience of tutoring English GCSE and have a first class Degree in English & History so would be open to tutoring with either of these subjects.
My Experience
I have been a Children's Social Worker for the last 3 years and have worked with children of all ages and from all family backgrounds and experiences. As a Social Worker I have had extensive safeguarding training as well as child-development training and safe-parenting work. Within my job I have had experience of caring for new-born babies, infants, toddlers, primary school aged children, all the way up to teenagers. This wide range of experience with different ages has given me the different tools and approaches to ensure that I meet each child's individual needs. I have also had experience of working with children with learning difficulties and have received training from organisations such as the National Autistic Society to ensure that they are best supported.
Prior to becoming a Social Worker I worked in a youth-engagement role and worked with young people aged 14-17 to support them to carry-out their own local charity projects/events. Within this job I worked to engage young people and to ensure that they had support for their emotional wellbeing alongside our projects. Prior to this, I worked as a youth support worker within a local youth-club for children aged 6-12.
