About Me
I am an ofsted registered childminder on the early years register and the compulsory part and the voluntary part of the childcare register. I have a degree in education studies and have loved working as a Nursery nurse in a primary school for the past 13 years. I am paediatric first aid trained. I am a parent to a 16 year old girl and a 5 year old boy, and would love to apply all my knowledge of the EYFS and my working experience into my own setting. I emphasise the importance of learning through play, and have a range of toys to cater for every child and help develop their skills. I love exploring the local area of woods and parks, beaches and nature reserves, and enjoy days out. I also have a national trust membership and enjoy visiting different experiences with my children. I have had experience with forest school and I encourage the use of sensory play using foam, play dough, baking cakes ect. I have a big loving family and enjoy time with nieces and nephews and also like to provide a caring warm home from home experience. Children are of their best when they are settled and happy, and I wish this to be a priority.
My Experience
I have been a Nursery Nurse in a primary school for the past 13 years working with 3/4 year olds, with a ratio of 1 adult to 13 children. I have had training and worked with children with additional needs at times I have been a 1:1, and have lots of experience following the EYFS framework.I have covered other year groups also as a TA but my main focus was nursery. Previous to this I had volunteered as a TA within a year 4 class for a few years. I also have experience of 5 years training a young boys football team age 5-10years. I have always helped out with childcare for nieces and nephews within my family from babies, all of which have been rewarding.
