About Me

I offer a home from home environment and follow the Early Years framework. With having a smaller setting, I want to try and build that one on one learning through play, my 20month old daughter will be doing this journey with us.
I plan on doing daily outside activities like going to the local parks, toddler groups, beach, woodland walks, or my garden will be the alternative as I would like the children to try and get out at least once a day to get the physical development in and the fresh air!
We do have pet rabbits who have been brought up with my daughters, if your child is willing and comfortable to do so I would like to get them involved with helping feed them, stroke them and watch them as I believe animals really help with their learning of the world around them, seeing that we need to be gentle and quiet around the rabbits to not scare them or hurt them, with this I also hope the children will be willing to try different fruits and vegetables, seeing what we prepare for the rabbits and tasting it too and see why the rabbits might like them ect.
We are a very arty family, I would like your children to be able to show their creative side with different materials, pencils, markers, paint, dough, natural materials such as pin cones ect (all washable or wipe able) with this I hope to develop their motor skills and creative thinking.
Story time is a must for us! Whether it's myself reading to the children or the children making up their own stories to tell me or us working together to create our own stories, I hope to put together a sensory bag to go with the story we are reading that week eg: old Mcdonald, we have the farm animals but also have their environments such as hay, grass, homemade mud so they can feel and see what a farm animal would live like, and hopefully incorporate a farm visit this would be focusing on their literacy, communication and language, and their physical development.
I want to get your children involved in as much as I can, I plan on having themed weeks/month as to what is going on in the world that week/month for example, December = Christmas January = new year February = valentines day and Chinese New year and so on. I want to know what you do in your family if there are any traditions or special days or holidays you celebrate so we can learn and share that experience of the culture and world.
