My Summary

My Experience

As a Student Ambassador at the University of Manchester, I've provided several campus tours and given informative tours and answered parents' questions thoroughly. Furthermore, I've assisted several times in "GM Higher" events, in which groups of 30-60 students take part in workshops to discover what Higher Education and University is about. These events can range from any age, from primary school students, to students about to choose their A Levels. I've also worked on "Success 4 Life", which encourages students from disadvantaged backgrounds but with high potential to pursue education and/or apprenticeships.

I am also a Youth Ambassador for Buttle UK - a charity that provides grants to estranged young adults and those in care. I have taken part in several projects with the charity - including writing a report on findings from interviews I took with other young people and their experiences with the charity, and also creating a storyboard for an animatic to present to the government to encourage investment in the charity.

When I was actively doing Karate, I would also teach the younger students basic moves and Katas (detailed patterns and movements).

I have also been awarded a certificate for being a Peer Support Mentor at the University; my role was to provide pastoral and educational one-to-one support to 8 new students on my course.

I have completed my annual CPR training for my course. I am currently in my fourth year (out of five years) of the Bachelor's degree of Dentistry.

UCAT score of 2970 (average of 742.5) and SJT score of Band 1 in the year 2019, scoring in the top 3 percentiles globally.

My Availability

As I am a full-time Dental student, I am in University on certain days (Tuesday and Wednesday). However, my course is mostly made up of self directed learning, therefore I have most days off. I have access to my timetable ahead of time and will communicate quickly on my availability, which should be most days.

I'm looking to work with a parents/carers and children that I hope I can help and make a difference in their lives. Working at £11.44 per hour (the national minimum wage for 21 year olds in the UK) is suitable for me.
