Hi, I'm Libby, an OFSTED registered nanny with 14 years of childcare experience including, including three years of sole charge nannying for four different families.
Other experience includes work as a nursery assistant, teaching assistant (group and 1:1), after school club worker and creche volunteer. I have also worked with vulnerable adults in a variety of settings.
Background:
Although qualified with an Honours degree as an Occupational Therapist, nannying has been a positive move for my wellbeing and lifestyle, I find joy and fulfillment in the role.
My values:
Play - I believe free child-led play is highly important for all children to enable experimental and experiential discovery of the world, supporting all areas of development.
Emotions - I believe recognition of all emotions is important and valuable, enabling children to learn to express and understand themselves more fully and build essential emotional regulation tools.
Boundaries - I believe boundaries that protect a childs safety, provide a level of security, and prepare a child to be part of the wider community, are an asset to each individual family.
Family-centric - I will do my best to ensure I am working within the value and behavioural framework of the family, and therefore will embody the parental approach as far as is possible and healthy to do so.
Nanny work:
I began my nanny work with two families in Oxfordshire, working part-time for each of them, before getting married and moving to Gloucester. Since moving to Gloucester, I enjoyed a temporary job supporting a family over the summer holidays, followed by a permanent part-time job beginning October 2025.
The ages of the children I have nannied, have ranged from 9 months to 7 years old.
As a nanny, I have experience throughout developmental stages ranging 9 months - 5 years.
I will always structure the days around the specific children's and families needs, whether the preference is for within, or, outside of the home. I have however seen incredible benefits in taking the children out somewhere each day, whether to a play or skill-building group, the library, or, outdoor location to provide a variety of fun, social and stimulating experiences. I have also found that some time away from the family home, helps in creating a positive distraction, and enables a bond to form, reducing the separation anxiety or distress that can otherwise arise in those early days.
* I am level 3 pediatric first aid trained, valid until September 2027. This will be updated then as required.
* I am not a driver, however, I have found that walking and taking the bus are both fun and reliable ways to travel when I am nannying, providing an activity in themselves. I also cycle and use public transport for personal travel e.g. to and from the workplace.
My Experience
2010-2014 Volunteer at crèche and children's groups whilst in further and higher education.
2015-2016 Nursery assistant
Babies and toddlers, attending to basic needs and using EYFS framework to enable development.
2016-2018 Primary school teaching assistant
Aged 4-11 years, 1:1 SEN, small groups, larger classes.
2018-2023 Volunteer at children's groups alongside OT training and subsequent related jobs.
2023-2025 Live out Nanny for two families with infants and a child between 4 and 5 years old.
2025-2026 Live out Nanny for single family with ages ranging 15monthe-4.5 years

My Availability
I am ideally looking for 3-4 days per week. I am available within daytime hours.
My Fees
- Babysitting from £13.00 per hour
- Nannying from £15.50 per hour (gross)
£14.80 per hour, paid via a PAYE system such as 'Nanny PAYE' or 'Nanny Tax'

We wholeheartedly recommend Libby, who worked with our family as a nanny from 2024 to May 2025. During this time, Libby cared primarily for our son, who was younger than one when she began, and also looked after our young daughter during after school hours and school holidays.
Libby worked with us three days a week. She was consistently punctual and always communicative, and kept us updated on ETAs from public transport. Her reliability and professionalism were evident from the start. As a nanny, Libby is kind, gentle, and fun—qualities that made her a beloved figure in our household. Our son adored spending time with her, and she always ensured his needs were met with great attention to detail. When preparing for outings, Libby packed thoughtfully with all essentials, including nappies, sun cream, snacks, water, toys etc. She also took initiative in finding engaging groups and activities for the children to attend. She worked
with the natural interests of the children, allowing them to take the lead in choosing some of the activities, whether baking a cake or going to a nearby construction site to see diggers!
Beyond childcare, Libby contributed meaningfully to our household during quieter moments, such as folding laundry and walking our dog while the baby napped. Her ability to balance childcare with household support was invaluable. During school holidays, Libby seamlessly managed both children, tailoring age-appropriate
activities and ensuring each child received individual attention throughout the day. Her ability to set clear boundaries and maintain a nurturing environment was something we deeply appreciated.
Libby has moved on to a new chapter in her life, and while we are thrilled for her, we are genuinely sad to see her go. She has been an incredible support to our family, and we cannot recommend her highly enough. Libby will be an asset to any family fortunate enough to work with her.

I can STRONGLY recommend Libby to any family seeking a loving and nurturing nanny for their children. She has been looking after our one-year-old son Patrick since 2023 and he adores her!
Libby picked up Patrick’s routines and preferences quickly and is proactive when planning Patrick’s schedule. She is endlessly patient with him and fills their days together with fun, stimulating activities. He responds really well to her gentle approach. She has supported our approach to baby-led weaning and makes sure he is safe and closely supervised at mealtimes. She is also really flexible and always adapted to our busy schedules. Her kind and caring nature shines through all aspects of her work.
We are very lucky to have her in our lives!
