My husband and I feel so lucky to have found Ruby. Our little girl, Joni, absolutely loves her and is always so happy to be in Ruby’s care. Ruby is calm and confident and able to provide firm boundaries, she also has a great sense of humour and sense of fun, but is incredibly responsible and reliable!

My daughter started with Ruby when she was only 10 months and it really is a home from home. She absolutely loves all of the activities she does whilst at the setting. Ruby takes her children to forest school, toddler groups, playgrounds, even to the seaside. My older son also loves Ruby and has gone to her setting during the school holidays.

It is clear that Ruby understands child development. She personalises her care and ensures she works with the child’s routine and dietary needs and makes lovely home cooked food. Ruby has helped us to implement a better sleep schedule.

Ruby’s son is also very kind, friendly and mature and the other children love him. Ruby is a very confident, capable driver and has taken my daughter on all sorts of excursions. My daughter loves music, dance and singing and it’s evident that this is explored in Ruby’s setting and has helped her to build these interests with confident.

Ruby has a therapy dog and my daughter absolutely adores him. It has made her confident with animals and both of my children love spending time walking and playing with the dog.

We feel so lucky to have found Ruby. She is providing a secure, nurturing, engaging environment for my daughter where she feels safe and we feel relieved to be able to trust both of our children in her care.

Hazel’s setting will wow you. My husband was so impressed by the professional setup and the resources and facilities within the setting from the first visit, as well as Hazel’s calm, confident, reassuring manner.

For Hazel, childminding is clearly a vocation and the thought she puts into her activities and learning opportunities is so meticulous. Having worked in education and social care for the past 20 years I am so impressed with Hazel’s grasp of the EYFS curriculum and her ability to use play to build language, independence, creativity and confidence.

My daughter loves the opportunity she gets to build and make things in Hazel’s setting and she is proud of what she makes, excited to share it with us. Hazel uses play to teach about the wider world eg my daughter recently learnt about oceans and the importance or keeping the environment clean through a recycling activity and she brought this new understanding home. Hazel also promoted independence through a sock washing activity where children washed the socks and put them on the ‘washing line’. My daughter then showed an interest in the washing at home and putting her socks on independently!

Hazel is adept at taking children out on trips and excursions to parks, museums, lavender fields where she takes really professional photos, but my daughter is just as happy in the setting learning about healthy eating and counting, how to use cutlery safely and making friends with the other children.

We would recommend Hazel to anyone and feel so lucky to have found her and will be using her at every opportunity during my daughter’s pre school holidays

Response by Avatar for Hazel Hazel on 14/05/2025:

Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful words. It’s been an absolute joy to care for your daughter; her enthusiasm, creativity, and curiosity make every day so rewarding. I’m so glad to hear how much she enjoys the activities and brings her learning home; that really is what it’s all about!

It means a great deal to me that you’ve noticed the care and planning that goes into each part of the setting, from the resources to the outings and daily routines. Your background in education and social care makes your feedback especially meaningful, and I truly appreciate the trust you’ve placed in me.

I’m already looking forward to welcoming her back during the school holidays and continuing our adventures in learning and play!

Warmest regards,
Hazel
