About Me

Hi, I'm Stella, an ASD + ADHD Nanny with both lived and professional 1:1 and 1:2 experience in SEND. I'm passionate about supporting children through empathy, structure, and play, and my own neurodiversity (ASD + ADHD) helps me connect authentically with the young people I work with, especially those who feel misunderstood in traditional settings.

I am energetic and empathetic, promoting curiosity and turning everyday moments into learning experiences - whether that's building emotional literacy, supporting routines, or creating space for joy! I believe in building bridges toward independence and community engagement through sound behavioural interventions that empower children to thrive in a neurotypical world without shame.

Alongside working at a specialist autism school providing 1:1 and 1:2 care, I have a background in Law with a focus on family, and enjoy the creative arts, music, and advocacy work. I'm Team Teach certified, hold an enhanced DBS, and bring warmth, insight, and structure to every child I care for.

My Experience

I have 6 years of babysitting experience of family aged 2–16, and am currently gaining professional experience (4 months to present) working at a specialist school for autistic children with complex needs. The current children I work with have comorbid conditions of ADHD and epilepsy. I work both 1:1 and 1:2 to deliver ABA- informed interventions in a structured and nurturing environment.

Current responsibilities include:
1. Designing and delivering IEP targets across education, language development (vocal, pre-vocal, and AAC users), and emotional regulation/distress tolerance.
2. Supporting personal independence and emotional awareness, including identifying and communicating pain, feelings, objects, and daily routines—both at home and in community contexts (e.g. shopping, safety awareness).
3. Creating and facilitating daily visual timetables to embed routine, playful learning, and meaningful connection.
4. Cooking, feeding, toileting, and other personal support needs.

I also have 45.5 hours of voluntary experience hours in NDBI interventions at a SEND nursery for children aged 2-5, including data-collection methods and Antecedent, Behaviour, and Consequence (A-B-C) training, meaning I am able to incorporate a play-centered approach for children if so desired.

As a final year Law student, including completed studies in family law, I bring a clear understanding of the legal and ethical frameworks involved in working with vulnerable children. I hold an enhanced DBS, am Team Teach qualified, and work from a trauma-informed, person-centred approach rooted in empathy and consistency.

I have experience working in families and learning, including the preparation and support in delivering educational materials and lessons for SEND children, including those oriented around nature.
