My Experience

I have hands-on experience in childcare through a combination of volunteer work and informal caregiving roles in both Zimbabwe and the United States. I volunteered at the Sandra Jones Centre in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, a home for orphaned and vulnerable children, where I supported daily routines, helped with meals, educational activities, and offered emotional support to the children. This experience deepened my understanding of child development and the importance of creating a nurturing, structured environment.

In addition to my volunteer work, I have provided babysitting services in New York City for a month on my gap year, caring for young children. My responsibilities included preparing meals, assisting with homework, organizing play activities, and ensuring bedtime routines were followed. I’ve also regularly helped take care of younger cousins, which strengthened my patience, adaptability, and ability to manage multiple children at once in a home setting.

My Qualifications

I have successfully completed my GCSEs and A-levels and am currently an undergraduate student at Oxford Brookes University, studying Psychology. My academic journey has equipped me with a solid foundation in psychological theory and research, and I am committed to developing a deeper understanding of human behaviour and mental processes.
