My Experience
My journey in childcare began in secondary school placement at Wroughton Primary School, where I had the opportunity to work with children aged 7-11 years. I supported them in their studies, particularly in preparation for their SATs, and helped ease their transition to secondary school. This experience sparked a strong passion for nurturing and supporting children in their growth.
After leaving secondary school, I perused a Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education. As part of my course, I completed several placements with children ranging from 3 months to 6 years. These experiences helped me develop a wide range of skills, including planning age-appropriate activities, supporting learning through play and understanding the individual needs of each child.
Following college, I joined Shrublands Pre-School, where I worked with 1-3 year olds. My responsibilities focused on supporting their early learning and development across all key areas, including communication, personal care and physical skills.
After my time at Shrublands, I moved into one to one childcare for numerous families, caring for children from newborns to 2 years old. I assist with daily routines and encouraging development through engaging activities that support their fine and gross motor skills, communication, and overall growth. Happy to provide references.
