Ruth made a good first impression as she kindly agreed to meet us for an initial chat on a Sunday and with very little notice. She turned up to our house on time and we had a pleasant first meeting. We agreed that she would let us know her availability to do a trial with us. As I didn’t hear from her, I followed up after a week asking if she would still be interested in doing a trial (as we had discussed). She answered the following day with her availability. We finally agreed a date and time. Unfortunately, Ruth never showed up on the agreed date and time and ignored my message asking if she was coming and also my call which I found truly unprofessional. I would not want any other parent to waste their time, hence why I’ve decided to post this review as I have given her ample time to drop me a message with an explanation and she has not done so. We understand mistakes or unexpected inconveniences that may not allow us to carry on with our day as planned happen in life but in those cases, respecting others and letting them know of changed plans at one’s earliest opportunity is the least that I’d expect from someone that should be professional and responsible enough to care for a baby. I feel sorry to leave this review on this young nanny’s profile, but I feel like it is my duty to share my experience for any other parent out there and hopefully this is a lesson for Ruth herself that communication is key for a trusting relationship with any employer (or overall in life!).
