Dorking Nursery School (Jan2021 to June 2021)

Nanny - Private home (August 2014 - November 2014)
This was a short term role caring for two boys of secondary school age. I worked three, four and a half hour days during term time. During the school holidays I worked three ten hour days. Sole charge role.

Nanny - Private home ( August 2012 - December 2012)
This was a temporary position covering their Nannys maternity leave. I cared for two children aged five and two, I worked three twelve hour days. Sole charge role.

Residences student mentor – Brunel University (September 2011 – January 2012)
As a mentor I worked in the residences office for three different halls of residence. My main responsibilities were supporting new students at the University with academic and personal matters. Other responsibilities included holding kitchen and mediation meetings. I worked as part of a team providing the best possible service for students.

Nanny – Private home (October 2009 – 2014 Ad hock after I had my own children) This position was caring for twin boys from the age of ten weeks old on a sole charge basis.

Work experience/ Placements

Hayes Park Lodge - 24hr supported housing for adults with mental illness (September 2011 – January 2012)
I worked with adults who have enduring mental health illnesses, I supported the clients with life skills through cooking classes, key work sessions to assess their progress with things such as looking for work, housing or attending art therapy classes. I also attended appointments with clients to support them and would advocate on their behalf when needed.

Avenue House – Community Mental Health Team (February 2011 – April 2011)
I shadowed social workers, physiologists and many other professionals to understand how each member of the team works and compliments one another. I attended home visits alongside a social worker and jointly ran a weekly social group for a large number of clients.

Stars Day Nursery (May 2010 – July 2010)
I provided general care for babies and children up to the age of five, including playing, changing and feeding. I planned, implemented and observed age appropriate activities for individuals and groups of children to assess their development and learning needs.

West Ashtead Primary School (September 2008 – April 2009)
I worked with the reception class teacher providing learning opportunities for all children, making observations to assess the learning needs of each child. I played with the children through indoor, outdoor sports and games, role play activities and general play. I planned implemented and observed activities weekly for the class as a whole.

Woodlands School (May 2006)
I completed a week’s work experience at this school for children with special needs. I worked in different classes throughout the school, with children with varying needs and disabilities. We held a number of different sessions such as cooking and speech and language. I also assisted children during lunch time with eating and I went swimming several times with groups of children and staff.

During my time on the Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education I also completed placements in two other day nurseries and one other primary school.
