Hello my name is Luisa Claire. I am an OFSTED registered Childminder, graded 'Good' on the new higher standards in current inspection cycle and reaching higher grade in other areas this continues my 'Good' grade from my 1st inspection.
I live in Eaglescliffe with my little boy who is 11 and my little girl who is 6.
Our home is a friendly, loving, secure, family setting and all children that come here are treated as part of our family. Its a home from home environment with the positive approach that all children come here to play and have fun. I find this takes the anxiety away from both parents and children and becomes an exciting time to look forward too giving parents peace of mind their little darlings are happy.
We are animal lovers and teach all children to be respectful of our animals and others they come into contact with for their own and animals safety. We have a cat who is very friendly, fluffy, playful and brilliant with children, she is mainly outside her choice but does like to come in for cuddles and we have a golden Retriever age 4 and a Cockapoo puppy both are very gentle and adore children and with full risk assessments in place sometimes accompany us on outings. They both have their own crates for down time and own area in garden for hygiene purposes.
I am CRB checked and I am fully OFSTED registered including for overnight care and specialise in anti social hours. I hold a full clean driving licence and have my own 7 Seater Audi Q7 transport. I am part of The National Childminding Association and currently studying for further childcare qualifications level III diploma. Paediatric First Aid Trained, hold Safeguarding Children Certificate and have received a 5 out of 5 stars food hygiene certificate from The Food Standards Agency. Please refer below for a list of qualifications and training undertaken.
I do regular development and tracking updates on each early years child in line with EYFS as well as a daily diary summarising how your child has eaten/drank/slept in keeping with their routines. Activities we have been doing so you know where they have been, how they felt and can chat about their experiences and share achievements. I actively encourage parents to regularly feedback about home life, activities done together, what your little ones have enjoyed doing or milestones reached. This not only aids me in my planning and next steps but also in group talks encourages their speech, language, communication and listening skills while developing their personal and social development.
We have 2 playrooms a dedicated early years room filled with real world and vintage resources to incite and encourage child led play while covering all areas of development. Resources include books, mathematical toys, scales, shells and starfish, marble eggs, colours, shapes, telephone, wooden farm, castle, kitchen, school, tool bench and dolls house. Musical instruments, dressing up, dolls, cars, dinosaurs and lots of games and jigsaws and a sofa to relax on.
The second playroom is for older children to play in with smaller accessories for safety and is set up with barbie doll house, barbies, ponies, carriages, barbie cars and shop, pool sets and mermaids and dolls bath water fun.
We also have a library area in the quiet lounge filled with lovely books including all phonics, early readers and free reading and a number of films for special treats, the kitchen is the hub and where we do sit down at the table activities ie homework, school reading books, spellings, arts and crafts, cooking, messy play, painting, gluing, sticking, drawing, play doh.
Outside there is a large enclosed rear grassed garden with toys, water table, 2 storey play house, mud kitchens, chalk board, little tike cars, trampoline (age dependent), ball pool, paddling pool (weather permitting), climbing frame with cargo net, climbing wall, bridge into trees and a slide. We like to spend time gardening and planting learning about flowers and wildlife and children made an army den, a bug hotel and a hedgehog house. To the front the property is gated to ensure children's safety while entering and leaving.
I actively promote routines and will keep as near to your own regarding sleeping, feeding or establish if not already in place as children need their rest to grow and ensure they do not become overtired or over stimulated so they are always happy to play and join in reaching further potential and are not overtired at end of day so you can have quality time together before bed. I have a dedicated sleeping room catering for every age group with a double bed, a cot/junior bed and I also have another cot in a separate room. All younger children will have a nap per day in their own cot/bed, occasionally if on full day outings may be in a pushchair with permission.
We spend a lot of time doing activities outdoors as children love to be able to have their freedom in a safe environment for example walking, play park, feeding ducks, trips to the moors, beach, farms, museums, woods, reservoirs, biking, teddy bears picnics, nature trails, butterfly world etc. Inside activities include indoor play, visiting various groups, library story time, toddler sessions, music classes, soft play, church groups and meeting with other children for play dates.
Children learn social skills, knowledge of the world and develop physically, emotionally and intellectually from going to different places, how to treat people and how to behave and keep safe i.e. walking nicely near busy roads, from being in different social situations and interacting with all ages, genders and cultures. They thrive from fun learning and will have a lot of input into daily planning mainly being child led.
I offer a range of food choices I am able to cater for specific requirements and will always encourage children to try different things and provide a healthy menu. Mainly all the children who attend my setting are cared for, played with, listened too, encouraged, nurtured and treated the same as i treat my own little darlings, your child's happiness is my priority.
Please contact me if you would like too to discuss your child/ren and my availability if you feel your child will benefit from being in a family home like ours. Thank you for taking the time to read this and i hope to hear from you soon x
I am a parent with 2 young children and have first hand knowledge of other peoples children of all ages, over the past 6 years i have been caring for a number of children ages ranging from 13 weeks to 12 years, including antisocial hours and overnight/weekend care as well as my own 2 children. Our home always has a lovely mix of age groups which is brilliant for the children to socialise together and learn how to treat each other for example sharing and caring for others needs.
I regularly look after friends and families children from babies too teenagers and have nieces and nephews of different ages and 2 god children, as well as being actively involved with local children's groups, our house is always filled with little feet that make a house a home and mess makes memories (we have tidy up time too).
I have common sense, a caring loving positive attitude. I am very flexible and will always help if i can. I enjoy being with children, my career is my life i love it and my own children love and enjoy the social experiences and building relationships and friendships with all the little ones and are actively involved with making all the children feel at home here, we promote healthy happy family values and are very much a family home environment.
I am a qualified financial advisor and have taken a career change after being made redundant from a high street bank. Prior to that i was a Mortgage Broker for a national firm and prior to that Area Manager for an American Insurance company.

Luisa is an amazing childminder, my son has only been with Luisa for 6 months and his development has come on greatly. My son’s speech has improved so much since having much more one to one time. He can now have a conversation with me and he often tells me about the things he’s done during his day. Luisa takes him to a weekly music class where he has learnt many songs and actions. I often hear him singing the songs at home, the class has helped improve his speech & communication, along with his overall confidence. Luisa is always teaching him to communicate in such a positive and helpful way. He is now very confident at washing his own hands, putting on his own shoes and taking away his own plate and even scraping the leftovers into the bin, which at just 2 & half I think this is amazing!
This is the first time I’ve used a childminder, and I would definitely recommend using Luisa, the home from home environment is perfect, my son is often running around Luisa’s home just like it’s his own, he feels very comfortable and enjoys the company of the other children. He has very special bond with both of Luisa’s children who are both brilliant with him, Luisa’s daughter has been showing my son her gymnastic moves, which he now shows me at home. Both children have a very natural bond with him, and treat him like he’s a member of their family.
There is an excellent selection of well-organized toys & games, and a dedicated toy/play room, as well as a lovely conservatory that children can play/relax in. Luisa also has a dedicated room for children to sleep in which ensures your child can have a nap when needed in a very quiet and calm environment. The garden is amazing, full of gorgeous natural resources that help the children develop and learn, there is plenty of space for the children to run around and be creative. Luisa is always coming up with new creative ideas for her home and garden, I especially love the bug hotel in the garden.
Luisa provides lovely home cooked food and my son actually eats much better with her than at home. The children sit at the table and all eat their dinner’s together and Luisa is always encouraging engagement between the children, they are good at communicating with each other and myself when I collect my son. I often hear about their school day or the activities they have been up to which is lovely to hear.
Luisa is also very safety conscious, when my son is walking he will always be on the inside furthest away from the traffic. He is very aware of the dangers of roads and even at 2 and a half he knows to not run off and is very careful around traffic. Luisa communicates so well will my son and she is very kind and loving with him if he gets upset or misses me. Luisa has a fantastic bond with my son and she helps and encourages very part of his development and social skills.
Overall, I can’t fault Luisa, the setup is fantastic, the highlight of my working day is receiving beautiful pictures and videos of the fun activates they have been getting up to. One of my favorite pictures so far was when Luisa took my son to a pumpkin farm on Halloween, he carved his own spider pumpkin, he was so excited to show me, and so proud of his achievement. He spend the day in the fresh air and open space playing and experiencing a new environment which is something that he wouldn’t of got to do if he’d stayed at a nursery. I am so pleased I decided to move him, it was definitely the right decision for his personality.
My son and daughter (aged five and nine respectively) have been going to Luisa for around a year. They love going to see Luisa and enjoy spending time after school and during some school holidays.
I had never used a childminder before Luisa and worried that I may be let down last minute but it has never happened. Luisa has been 100% reliable and takes excellent care of my children's needs. The children get a good cooked meal and enjoy time playing and doing homework, which Luisa helps with. This is a really big help when time after school is limited as a working parent.
I would definitely recommend Luisa and suggest having a chat to her about your individual requirements. She always does her best to accommodate.
Luisa has welcomed my son into her home so warmly and because of this, he settled in really quickly and looks forward to his time at her house. There are lots of lovely toys to play with, as well as a fantastic garden to play in (encouraged whatever the weather which is important!) and Luisa really encourages creativity and craft activities which is exactly what I look for in a childminder!
My son has enjoyed homecooked food which is brilliant after a full day at school! I am not quite sure how she manages it especially as the house is so tidy! I think she has clear boundaries in the house which is so healthy for children.
Being at Luisa's house has also made my son more confident with dogs, he began being quite afraid of Marley however now he strokes him and just isn't aware of him (this was within 2 weeks).
I have been more than happy with Luisa's care and would recommend her to anyone.
Luisa is an amazing childminder. She cares for my toddler two days a week and she is very happy there, she does not want to come home! My daughter is very calm and quiet and I did not want her to go into a nursery setting. Luisa offers a loving and nurturing environment where my daughter thrives. She really understands her needs and what makes her happy.
My daughter has excellent experiences with Luisa, they go out for walks, go to music class and they do lots of creative things at home. She is encouraged to explore different activities and this is done in an encouraging way.
She also works with me to develop and encourage Hatty and she is very receptive to Hattys needs.
I am really happy with Luisa and would recommend her to anyone.
I feel about care provided for my child is excellent. My child thinks it is great to spend time with Luisa and she feels happy, safe and protected. She enjoyed healthy meals and snacks, lovely activities Luisa organized, resources they have. I feel very happy about the antisocial hours and weekend provided by Louisa. She and her family all are friendly and welcome all children into home. My child used to be frightened of dogs, but now she loves Louisa' dog Marley. How wonderful!
