About Me

Hello my name is Luisa Claire. I am an OFSTED registered Childminder, graded "Good" on the new standards and my 1st inspection.

Updated new inspection September 2016 on new higher standards and continued my Good grade overall in all areas and reached highest grade in majority of areas, a very pleasing report completed by a 17yr early years experienced inspector.

I am 39 years old and live in Eaglescliffe with my little boy who is 10 and my little girl who is 6.

Our home is a friendly, loving, secure, family setting and all children that come here are treated as part of our family. Its a home from home environment with the positive approach that all children come here to play and have fun. I find this takes the anxiety away from both parents and children and becomes an exciting time to look forward too and gives parents peace of mind their little darlings are happy.

We have a cat who is very friendly, fluffy, playful and brilliant with children, she is mainly outside her choice but does like to come in for cuddles and we have a golden Retriever age 3 he's just had his birthday and loved his presents tennis balls and toys, he adores all children is very gentle and just loves to be stroked he is a big cuddly teddy bear loves to lay watching children play and with full risk assessments in place he sometimes accompanies us on outings, we have recently re homed a chihuahua puppy she is very playful loves children and cuddles and settling in well they both have their own crates for down time and own area in garden for hygiene purposes.

I am CRB checked. I do not smoke. I am fully OFSTED registered including for overnight care and specialise in anti social hours. I hold a full clean driving licence and have my own 7 Seater Audi Q7 transport. I am part of The National Childminding Association and currently studying for further childcare qualifications level III diploma. Paediatric First Aid Trained, hold Safeguarding Children Certificate and have received a 5 out of 5 stars food hygiene certificate from The Food Standards Agency.

I do regular development updates on each early years child in line with EYFS as well as a daily diary summarising how your child has eaten/drank/slept in keeping with their routines and activities they have done so you feel you know how your child's emotional day, where they have been and can chat about their experiences. I actively encourage parents to regularly feedback about home life, activities done together, what your little ones have enjoyed doing or milestones reached, to aid me in my planning, next steps and also so i can talk to the children about what they did and in group talks encouraging their speech, language, communication and listening skills while developing their personal and social development.

We have a playroom with lots of lovely toys, free play and educational play supporting all areas of development with resources for each area for example numeracy, alphabet. mathematics with counting games and toys to colours and shapes sorters, to understanding the world with effective real world resources, encouraging personal and social and communication and language skills and development, music for listening and attention and fine motor skills, train set, post box, wooden kitchen, dolls, cars, wooden tool bench, wooden farm and fire station, as well as a large variety of games and jigsaws, fine motor skills physical development, threading lacing resources and a sofa to relax and read books on or have a rest if wanted. We also have a library area in the quiet lounge.

An outside large enclosed grassed garden with toys, water table, play house, mud kitchens, music wall, chalk board, scooters/ride ons and little tike cars, trampoline, ball pool, paddling pool, we do planting and learn about flowers and wildlife and have a separate bug hotel area and a hedgehog house.

We have a dedicated sleeping room catering for every age group with a double bed, a cot/junior bed and I also have another cot in a separate room i actively promote routines and establish where not already in place and all younger children will have a nap per day in their own cot/bed, occasionally if on full day outings may be in a pushchair with permission.

We have a quiet lounge for relaxing, homework, school reading books and learning spellings, reading and jigsaws and the kitchen is where we do all our arts and craft activities, cooking, messy play, painting, gluing, sticking, drawing, play doh.

We spend a lot of time doing activities outdoors as children love to be able to have their freedom in a safe environment for example walking/play park/feeding ducks/trips to the moors/beach/farms/museums/woods/reservoirs, biking, teddy bears picnics, nature trails, butterfly world and indoor play visiting various groups for example Art class, library story time, toddler sessions, music classes, soft play, church groups and meeting with other children for play dates.

Children learn social skills, knowledge of the world and develop physically, emotionally and intellectually from going to different places, how to treat people and how to behave and keep safe i.e. walking nicely near busy roads, from being in different social situations and interacting with all ages/genders/cultures. They thrive from fun learning and will have a lot of input into daily planning mainly being child led. We have quiet time for reading, craft activities, cooking and have registered rooms for naps, as well as being fully registered for overnight care. Our daily routines will vary we are always busy having fun, however i will always try to keep as close as possible to any routines you have established with your child i.e. feeding/naps/bottles and all younger children will have a sleep per day, my routines are worked so your child will benefit from having a lovely sleep in a comfortable cot thus benefiting them being happy and not over tired when collected so you can enjoy some time together before bed. I offer a range of food choices I am able to cater for specific requirements and will always encourage children to try different things and provide a healthy menu. Mainly all the children who attend my setting are cared for, played with, listened too, encouraged, nurtured and treated the same as i treat my own little darlings, your child's happiness is my priority.

Please contact me if you would like too to discuss your child/ren and my availability if you feel your child will benefit from being in a family home like ours. Thank you for taking the time to read this and i hope to hear from you soon x

My Experience

Our home always has a lovely mix of age groups which is brilliant for the children to socialise together and learn how to treat each other for example sharing and caring for others needs.

I regularly look after friends and families children from babies too teenagers and have nieces and nephews of different ages and 2 god children, as well as being actively involved with local children's groups, our house is always filled with little feet that make a house a home and mess makes memories (we have tidy up time too).

I have common sense, a caring loving positive attitude. I am very flexible and will always help if i can. I enjoy being with children, my career is my life i love it and my own children love and enjoy the social experiences and building relationships and friendships with all the little ones and are actively involved with making all the children feel at home here, we promote healthy happy family values and are very much a family home environment. My son and daughter (aged five and nine respectively) have been going to Luisa for around a year. They love going to see Luisa and enjoy spending time after school and during some school holidays.

I had never used a childminder before Luisa and worried that I may be let down last minute but it has never happened. Luisa has been 100% reliable and takes excellent care of my children's needs. The children get a good cooked meal and enjoy time playing and doing homework, which Luisa helps with. This is a really big help when time after school is limited as a working parent.

I would definitely recommend Luisa and suggest having a chat to her about your individual requirements. She always does her best to accommodate.

Luisa has welcomed my son into her home so warmly and because of this, he settled in really quickly and looks forward to his time at her house. There are lots of lovely toys to play with, as well as a fantastic garden to play in (encouraged whatever the weather which is important!) and Luisa really encourages creativity and craft activities which is exactly what I look for in a childminder!
My son has enjoyed homecooked food which is brilliant after a full day at school! I am not quite sure how she manages it especially as the house is so tidy! I think she has clear boundaries in the house which is so healthy for children.
Being at Luisa's house has also made my son more confident with dogs, he began being quite afraid of Marley however now he strokes him and just isn't aware of him (this was within 2 weeks).
I have been more than happy with Luisa's care and would recommend her to anyone.

Luisa is an amazing childminder. She cares for my toddler two days a week and she is very happy there, she does not want to come home! My daughter is very calm and quiet and I did not want her to go into a nursery setting. Luisa offers a loving and nurturing environment where my daughter thrives. She really understands her needs and what makes her happy.
My daughter has excellent experiences with Luisa, they go out for walks, go to music class and they do lots of creative things at home. She is encouraged to explore different activities and this is done in an encouraging way.
She also works with me to develop and encourage Hatty and she is very receptive to Hattys needs.
I am really happy with Luisa and would recommend her to anyone.
