About Me
My name is Lynda and I have over 30 years childcare experience as a childminder and nanny.
At present I am looking for a position 1 day a week.
I live in Watford and can travel up to 1/2 an hour away for a new position and will consider a 1 day nanny or nanny/housekeeper role but unfortunately not after school only.
I have been a registered childminder since 1992 and over the years have had many children attend my setting from 3 months old through to secondary school age.
Since 2012 I have worked as a nanny and have done some part-time childminding.
I can provide a reference from my current employer and in addition, from my two previous long term nanny positions as well as from parents of children I have childminded.
As a child-carer I believe in using encouragement and praise to build children's self-esteem and confidence. I enjoy providing stimulating and age appropriate activities, play and crafts to encourage children's learning and development.
I enjoy taking the children I care for on trips out and some places we have visited are Rickmansworth Aquadrome, Wendover Woods, Cassiobury Park, the RAF Museum and the London Transport Museum as well as playparks, libraries and toddler groups.
My Experience
I have 32 years experience in childcare as a parent, childminder, room leader in a nursery and as a nanny caring for children in their own home.
My Qualifications
Over the years I have attended several courses in order to improve my practice.
My current 1st Aid Certificate is in date.
I hold a level 4 accreditation in Early Years Practice and a BA degree in Early Years.
I am registered on the DBS update service, have business class insurance on my car and have a full and clean driving license.

Lynda was nanny to our three children for several years and when she first started they were all under three years old so health and safety was one of our main priorities. Lynda provided not only a safe and clean environment but she organised fun and stimulating learning whilst respecting the differing needs/routines of all three children. As importantly, she encouraged them to socialise with other children in the local area through her very well established relationships within the childminding community. Lynda's warmth, humour and genuine love of children is evident in the way children respond to her. She has no reservations in plonking herself on the floor and instigating games, teaching or just giving out cuddles. Lynda is an outstanding child carer and a natural with children (and parents!) of all ages and I would be more than happy to give a verbal or written reference for her in the event you were considering her to be your childminder.
