About Me

My name is Heather and I am a Ofsted registered childminder and was awarded a GOOD grading following my inspection in January 2016. I hold a full peadiatric first aid certificate as well as a food safety and hygiene and Safeguarding children certificate and NVQ level 3 in childcare, Learning and Development qualified, and NVQ level 5 certificate of Early Years qualified.
I am currently working towards a BA Hons in Early Years, and pride myself on my flexibility.
I have my own children Melissa born in 1996, Mark born in 2000, and Aubree born in 2013.
We are a smoke free setting and I hold a full clean driving licence.

My Experience

I have had my own children, as well as caring for other children ranging from newborn to teenagers!

I have extensive experience of managing difficult behaviours such as ADHD, and caring for special needs children, which i throughly enjoy.
I am also able to cater for special diets, as my own children are cow's milk intolerant, and I have experience of caring for children with nut and strawberry allergies, please rest assured that I am happy to work with you to ensure your child's safety if they have a specific allergy.

I am a member of the Forest Childcare Association which places an emphasis on engaging, outdoor activities to expand a child's creativity and learning. All outings are fully risk assessed to maintain a high level of safety while allowing children to explore their natural surroundings!

We regularly attend story time at the library, toddler groups, sensory rooms, soft play, tumble tots, local park's, the beach as well as enjoying home based activities to help your child reach their full potential without them even realising they are learning.

My setting is not as full as it could be as my intention is to provide a small nurturing setting where young children are able to have more one on one attention, whilst trips to outside groups and activities enable the social interactions with larger groups and extend a child's learning, I feel this is especially important for children who are very young.

My Qualifications

Certificate in Early Years Practice NVQ level 5
NVQ level 3 in Childcare, Learning and Development
Full First Aid certificate
Food health and Hygiene certificate
Safeguarding Children Certificate
Extensive experience of special needs and challenging behaviours
Currently working towards my BA Hons in Early Years.

Heather was like a breath of fresh air to work with. Caring, considerate and trustworthy - everything we wanted and more. I can’t wait for my child to start his journey with Heather and her family. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you Shannon for your lovely comments, and it’s clear the little man has enjoyed his time here so far 💙
I’m looking forward to sharing his journey with you all xxx

Heather has been part of my little girls life as a childminder for over a year now. She is a lovely person who takes care of Evie who is 4rs old as if she were her own. Evie loves going over and asks when not there if shes going today. Heather is like a second mam to Evie when i have to go to work she goes above and beyond for all of her mindees including having over night and wknd stays if and when needed. Evie now attends nursery full time and Heather looks after Evie on school holidays. She plans lots of lovely trips out to the park, softplays, cinema trips, sensory rooms and messy play activities. She also has plans to have chicks over easter and animal antics visit which Evie is so excited about this. I would reccomend Heather as a childminder to those who want a lovely relaxed home from home atmosphere for their children but also has time for learning and exploring new things too. Evie planted a sun flower last summer she learned how to look after it and watched it grow. She learned about mixing colours with Heather and she always makes learning fun. Evie always tells me what a lovely time shes had with Heather and that she cant wait to go back. Xx

Thanks so much for your full and honest feedback, and we love having miss E in our family.

Heather is a brilliant childminder, my little girl started with her aged 8 months after my maternity leave on my return to work. Heather visited my home and we visited hers to make sure it was suitable for all of us and I was very impressed with the standard.
Heather has worked fantastically with me at all times and communicates with me throughout the day to let me know how she's getting on.
My daughter also has reflux and this has not been an issue at all as heather has worked with me to ensure her needs are catered for, including providing baby appropriate food for her.
She picks her up and drops her off for me taking away so much stress from me and I am always satisfied that she is safe and entertained.
Her development since starting is coming on amazingly and I could not be happier. Thank you!!

Thank you for your kind words Aimee, and little miss is such a joy to care for, and a big part of our family now :)

Heather's setting provides an excellent high quality but fully flexible service and is perfect for our family.
I work shifts for the NHS and my husband works away and Heather is always willing to accomodate our childcare needs as much as possible.
My children adore Heather and have made great friends with the other children in her setting, and now that her assistant is registered the children enjoy a lower ratio of adult to child interaction.
My son has various health issues including food allergies, and Heather is able to cater for his needs without question, she has also provided emergency care for our daughter whilst my son was in hospital recently and she never fails to ask how he is (he attends during holidays only, whilst younger one attends full time)
My children enjoy a range of nutrious healthy home cooked meals and snacks and the children look forward to the school holidays as they enjoy a wide range of activites and outings.
Both myself and my husband can go to work knowing our children are in good hands, and this is what is the most important to us as a family.
