About Me
I'm Jo, and I live in the centre of Worcester, a ten minute walk away from the Cathedral. I am married to David (Mobile Librarian for Worcestershire), and we have three young adult children. They were all at primary school when I started childminding in September 2012, & get to know all the children I look after. They are kind & supportive.
As a family we like to have good routines and feel organised, so that we can have fun and enjoy ourselves. We are caring and friendly, and would hope to make new children feel at home very quickly. We have two cats Betty and Berny (mother & son).
My Experience
I have sixteen years teaching experience. Lots of that time was teaching Year 1 and Reception, I have also taught Nursery. I chose to leave teaching, and retrained as a Childminder because I love working with children and feel I have skills that transfer over really well. I was with Ofsted for over 8 years & have just re registered with an Early Years Childminding Agency.
As a Mum of three I have lots of experience with children's needs, and I'm equally comfortable looking after babies and little ones, as I am older children who need a different kind of support and care.
I have experience of childminding for twins aged from 12 mths. I have childminded for babies from 4 mths old.
My last inspection was on 18th November 2022 by my childminding agency. I was very happy to receive an outstanding grade & the Inspector wrote in the report '...children at Jo's setting feel secure & welcomed, it really is a home-from-home environment. I was also impressed with how well Jo works with you all as parents, your input is valued by her...it is clear that you are all very happy with the care & education that Jo provides, & that your relationships are excellent.'

English and Drama Degree
PGCE Teaching Qualification (Early Years)
Paedeatric First Aid
Food Hygience Level 1
Good Practise in Childminding
Rutland Early Years Registration Certificate
Registered with Worcester County Council to offer funded places for 2, 3 & 4 olds as appropriate (and depending on spaces available).
Up-to-date safe guarding training.
My Availability
Some availability for Cherry Orchard pupils on the morning school run only (no availability after school).
From September 2024 I will have one space on a Tuesday for a pre school child.

My Fees
- Childminding from £4.60 per hour
£4.60 per hour.
Snacks and drinks are free.
I am not offering over-night care.
My working hours are Monday - Friday from 8 - 6pm. I have a flexible approach to hours, depending on each family's working requirements.
I can offer 2, 3 & 4 year old funded places depending on my availability.

Jo has looked after my 2 year old son since he was one year old and before that my daughter also from one year old. We are so grateful to have found Jo and have been welcomed into her family since day one. Jo offers a fun, loving and caring environment whilst also providing an opportunity to explore and learn. My son's development is supported and encouraged by Jo during each setting and he is continually exposed to a vast range of learning opportunities whether it be counting leaves during a walk in the park or exploring textures during a craft session. My daughter now at school also frequently asks to go back during school holidays and has such fond memories of her time there.

Jo has looked after my Twin girls for 10 months now and they get very excited when they go to her. I was let down by another childminder a week before i was due to start work. Jo was really accommodating and kept me calm in what was a very stressful situation. She has made my girls feel part of her family and takes the time to help them develop at their own rate.
I would highly recommend Jo to anyone who is looking for a home from home environment for their children.

Thank you Holly for this lovely write up. Its an honour and a treat to look after your girls.
Jo has proven a great hit with my 6 year old and 9 year old daughters who she looks after for me. They go to her after school and she takes them to school twice a week for me. They love the family atmosphere of her home and the activities Jo does with them. I would highly recommend her to anyone with a child of any age and only wish she had been around when I sent my two girls to nursery at the time when I had to return to work!
