About Me

Little learners Playhouse is dedicated to providing high quality childcare in the Mitcham/Pollards Hill area. If you are looking for an outstanding, safe, stimulating , loving and reliable environment for your child/children to be cared for then look no further! Find us on Little Learners Playhouse . com

We are located aprox 5 minuets walk away from Pollards hill library along the bus routes: 60 &152.

Our environment is set up attractivly within three spacious downstairs rooms to provide children with a full range of activities where they are able to learn at their own pace whilst having lots of fun. One of the three rooms is also used as separate area for sleep and rest during the middle of the day so that there are no disturbances.

The children have access to a very large and secure garden throughout the day were there is an enclosed pond area for feeding the fishes and watching various pond life cycles. This is alongside a wide range physical outdoor play equipment to keep the fun going.

All of the activities are planned alongside the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum and the children's development is supported according to their individual needs. There is a fully experienced and qualified childminder with an Early Years Teacher status amongst holding a Masters Degree in Education which will provide great benefits for your child's early education as they get ready for school. We work closely with parents to enhance and extend learning, sharing what your child will be doing whilst in our care so you will feel a part of their learning.

As part of our monthly topics we go on local trips and visits to various places of interest such as museums and farms which will help to extend the children's learning. We also regularly visit the local parks, soft play and library.

The children are provided with freshly prepared healthy meals and snacks throughout the day from a yummy four weekly menu. We cater for special dietary needs and vegetarians. We get parents and children involved in designing our menus which adds a touch of personalisation for each child.

We organise events to encourage our parents to get together. We also have parents evenings/weekends were we open up our setting to invite our parents in to see all the wonderful things their children have been learning about during their time with us.

Our children leave the setting very well prepared for school life and our parents are extremely happy with the progress that their children make whilst in our care. We have excellent references available upon request and hold a DBS check. (formerly known as CRB)

My Experience

I have previous experience working with children with special educational needs, this includes behavioural issues, health conditions and children with speech and language difficulties. I hold a Special Educational Needs and disability (SENDCO) certificate and am happy to work alongside other professionals in order to meet the needs of a child.

I have been a room supervisor leading a room with 15 babies from 3 months to 1 1/2 years and am very comfortable and skilled within this age group. I have also worked as a deputy manager , key person and EYFS coordinatior within a preschool. I worked alongside parents and other specilist professionals to support the children who had a range of educational needs.
