Level 3 Qualified 2015 (children and young persons workforce)
Hi My name is Kerry and I became a registered childminder as I love working with children and wanted to provide my experience, time and resources to dedicating quality flexible childcare to other families in a loving, warm and educational environment.
I have two grown up step children and one Grandson and a close family around me.
I was awarded with Outstanding in all areas with Ofsted on my inspection in 2013
I have have been nominated 2 years running for the education awards in Thurrock.
We live in South Ockendon on the Brandon Grove Estate in a 3-bedroomed house in a very quiet cul-de-sac. My whole house is registered for childminding. I have a conservatory that I also use as a Crafts area along with role play zones, this leads on to our garden which is grassed area which is secluded and secure. In the garden there is a variety of ride on vehicles, playhouse, water/sand table as well as other outdoor toys such as children gardening tools, stepping stones, balancing
We also have a fruit bearing pear tree in the garden and a small section of the garden is set aside for the children to grow their own seasonable fruit and vegetables which they can then harvest and use for snacks / cooking activities. Downstairs there is a large lounge / dining room area which is also used for play, kitchen / diner and a toilet and wash basin, I often like to get the children involved in preparing healthy home cooked meals.
Upstairs there are three bedrooms and a bathroom, for every child that will require rest, I also have a travel cot for the younger children to sleep in a quite area, fresh linen and monitor.
There is a wide choice of toys / activities to choose from in our home to suit all ages / stages of development. It is a strictly non-smoking household.
We have a large log cabin as a playroom for the children this is heated and full of exciting and educating toys for all ages.
We plan many activities out and about as often as we can as feel it's great for children to be out in the fresh air and learn about the environment while mixing with other children and having fun.
We work close with the EYFS in childrens development to ensure your child is developing within the statutory requirements needed to give them the best possible start in life.
I worked as a childminder for over 10 years many years ago and have enjoyed staying in touch with some of the children who are now adults. I decided after a career in learning and development for 13 years, to go back in to childcare as it was something I have a lot of passion for and enjoy very much.
My husband is a fully trained assistant and attends all training with Thurrock council, he supports with school runs days out and activities and any emergencies. He works full time as my assistant, and is registered through Ofsted he is CRB checked and is covered under my insurance.
My aim is not only to promote an extremely relaxing childcare atmosphere at all times, but also to offer the best possible start to the children's education.
You will be kept up to date on your child's development through meeting and a daily diary.
I have references that can also be seen below from parents.
I accept employers childcare vouchers
I have a vast experience in all areas of baby care and childcare including: creative play, role-play, singing and dancing, story times, learning nursery rhymes, fine and gross motor skills, counting, alphabet recognition etc.. I have looked after children of friends and family and have experience in babysitting, Childminder with over 10 years experience
I am young at heart and like nothing more than walking through the parks, playing on the swings, a perfect day out for me is the Zoo
I developed my values I believe from my grandfather, he was a very proud man and said family bond was the most important thing in life and that you should always respect people are different and you should always show appreciation and gratitude, as this cost nothing.
I have spent years in Training and Development for a large company and decided I needed to follow my heart and passion, so I resigned and started my training a year ago.
I am still in touch with some of the children I cared for today and have references that you can follow up.

As a parent I first met Kerry and Dave at a playgroup. Our relationship grew as did my daughter. They care for the children they have like their own. They provide wholesome meals for the children ensuring they all sit down together wash hand before and sit together socially until everyone is finished. They always provide a variety of activities for the children they care for whether it's organised play groups or rhyme time, outdoor days in the woods or by the sea or planned days in doors with structure and creativity.
Their setting has a wonderful cabin heated and air conditioned where children can play in all weather's. Kerry and Dave have a fantastic strong partnership and the children including my own daughter love being around them.
Kerry and Dave ensure children's safety is paramount providing children in their care with hi visibility vests when out and work as a tag team co coordinating the child's needs.
As a first time mum I must say Kerry and Dave set examples and ideals of what being a good parent/carer is about. I have learnt so much from observing them and how they set foundations for their children and do much of this for my child. They are inspirational.
Also Kerry and Dave go beyond their remit. Often attending functions out of hours for the children they care for. They also help the children make gifts for their parents on special occasions such as mothers day Easter and Christmas. Not other childminders i have encountered take the time to do this. And these items are irreplaceable.
Fantastic service. Wonderful people. Excellent team.
Kerry and Dave are next best thing to real parents for a child. We have been searching in close proximity as distance was not an option in our circumstance. It appears that our area restricted quest for baby care was a boon as we have located the Bubblegum. I would not hesitate to recommend them to any parent.
I have found this lovely couple for over a year ago by their neighbours recomendations. From the first visit I knew that it was the right place for my son. It took ages for him to settle down. Kerry and Dave made him feel welcomed and loved so he would be more confident in their house. As my son's first language is not english they done a great job by teaching him how to speak in english. Now he wont stop speaking in english, making full sentences and very confident when speaking with neighbours and other kids what he hasnt done before. he even counting till ten, knows some letters, can get mixed up with colours but I am really happy for 23 months old boy.
I cant wish for better childcare as kids hardly ever stay indoors, they always out; at playgroup, park, farm, or even beach. They are never bored as Kerry and Dave have plans set up in advance.
This couple is really incredible beyond the words. You dont have to worry about kids meals as well as all prepared freshly in their home.
Would highly recommend to anyone looking for childminder, Kerry and Dave should be on your top list.
My 2 daughters of 20 months and 9 months both attend Bubblegums and I couldn't have picked a better couple to take care of them. Finding childcare for my daughters was very daunting as they were both so young. Both Kerry and Dave made this as easy as they possible could. My girls are always happy when I pick them up and my eldest is always excited when we pull on the drive shouting "Kerry Kerry Kerry" I can honestly say I go to work knowing that both my girls are happy and enjoying there day with Kerry, Dave and there little friends they have made. They have days out to play group, parks the beach etc. They have lots of healthy meals and snacks. They will always do what they can to support you in anyway they can.
I honestly could not recommend Kerry and Dave enough!!
I done my placement at bubblegums childminder for my course cypw level three childcare course. I have been supported very well by Kerry and Dave and find them very helpful. They have a close bond with the children and have a variety of different toys the children can play with. The setting is very homely and couldn't fault them at all , two very lovely people would highly recommend. Thanks again Kerry and Dave for all your support and hard work xxxx
