I am an Ofsted registered Childminder and my service has been established since 2005. My professional development is ongoing through regular training and skills updates.
The children in my care experience a wide and varied activity programme which includes arts and crafts, music and movement, cookery, visits to local libraries, parks, and playgroups to name a few. Your child will have daily opportunities to engage and take part in activities that serve to broaden their experiences as well as aid development and progression. Our age and stage appropriate curriculum encompasses diversity awareness- celebrating the many similarities and differences between us. I am a firm believer in the idea that children learn about themselves by learning about the people around them.
I pride myself in offering a home-from-home environment, a place where children feel safe, loved, part of an extended family and above all have lots of fun learning through play.
I work with childcare assistants who support me to deliver the Early Years curriculum (EYFS) which comprises of learning through play and activities whilst receiving a high standard of care and attention. My staff team is trained and experienced following a thorough recruitment process to ensure our service is consistent, of high quality and children thrive during their time with us.
Parents are connected with their child's day with access to a digital diary updated in real-time powered by an award-winning software provider. In addition, parents receive an email at the end of each day which summarises activities they have enjoyed, menu information as well as sleep times and personal care.
The development and progress of your child are monitored and tracked with observation and planning for next steps of. This information is available to access at any time via an online portal, perfect for busy parents who can keep up to date at a time that suits you. This feature of my service is complemented with informal reviews and meetings to discuss any and all aspects of your child's care and learning.
I have worked with many families and am proud of the excellent relationships I have formed with the children in my care and their parents alike. Victoria offered our son wonderful care that we were completely confident of. From the cute setting in her back garden to the quality food she served she was flexible and supportive and gave us some great advice when our son was unwell for a few weeks. Her place is also right by Norwood Junction station which made drop off and picks ups really easy. We only left as we moved from the area - very highly recommend.
My daughter has been with Victoria since September and loves it there. The hours work perfect for us. The digital portal is very handy as I am able to see what’s happening throughout the day. She’s very close to the train station so it doesn’t affect my commute to work. Her members of staff are very warm and welcoming too. I would definitely recommend her!

Thank you so much for your comments. It has been a pleasure to see how well ****** has settled in and become part of the group. I am very much looking forward to watching her progress through her early years. I'm very pleased you find the parent app useful and helpful and helps you to stay connected whilst ******* is with us. She has made a great start, thanks again.
My son has been attending this setting since September 2018, we chose this setting as the children all looked happy and well taken care of.
My son always looks forward to going to small people and staff are equally as excited to receive him. Victoria and co are warm, friendly, supportive and professional my son has thrived in their setting.
I’ve recommended small people to local parents looking for childcare in the area and this setting definitely comes with high recommendations.

Thank you very much for your kind words. ****** is a pleasure to have with us and his bright and bold personality makes all the difference to our day!
It's wonderful to know he is as happy to be with us as we are to see him each morning.
Our son has been attending Victoria’s setting since January 2018, unfortunately due to us moving further away we have had to make an extremely difficult decision to move him (I did ask Victoria to move to closer to us but alas she said no).
He’s been extremely happy at Small People couldn’t have asked for a better place for him to start off at - it must be said we have been ridiculously spoilt and I’m finding it hard to come to terms that we have to say goodbye.
Response by Victoria on 20/07/2019:
We are very sad to see **** go and will miss him terribly. I wish I could grant your wish to move to be nearer to you!
Please do keep in touch, we would love to know how you are all getting along.
Thanks for being a great supportive parent, it truly makes all the difference.
Victoria was a life saver, willing to help out with a short term childcare need we had after being left in the lurch by our old provider. Our daughter settled very quickly and our original 3 week need for childcare turned permanent. She’s been super flexible in accommodating early mornings, late evenings and last minute needs for additional childcare. Our daughter loves Victoria and we’ve been comforted by the lovely bond she has with Victoria and encouraged by our daughter’s development while with Victoria.
