Current vacancy Tues,weds,Thurs From January.
I am an enthusiastic and fun loving childminder and love what I do. I work with my fiancée John who is my registered assistant and crb checked. Our ethos is fresh air, fun and friendships and we strive to provide the best experience for children and parents. We have two children aged 10 years and 14 years .We love getting out and about visiting woods, farms, forest groups, museums, national trust and English heritage properties and country parks. We are proud to offer fun and educational outdoor experiences for the children in our care. We also get involved in activities such as baking, arts and crafts, construction, reading, dancing and lots more. We have a large secure back garden with a mud kitchen, water wall, table tennis table, music corner and play house. Inside is spacious and light with lots of toys and equipment to keep busy minds entertained in between our little adventures. We are national trust and rspb members and prepare homecooked meals and healthy snacks. We believe children thrive when they feel safe and secure and we encourage children's individual interests by tailoring activities to them. Parents are welcome to join in with activities and feedback and suggestions are always welcome!
We are members of the anaphylaxis campaign and have experience of working with children with severe allergies. We also cater for vegan diets.

My children (aged 2 and 4) having been going to Nichola and John's for the last year and they love it. They are always excited to go and sometimes it's hard getting them to leave! They are always up to fun activities and go on lots of exciting trips out and about. Our children love spending time with their children and the other children in the setting and it's nice to see the older children there looking after and showing a caring attitude to the younger ones. They have a number of pets which is fantastic because our children have learnt how to be caring towards animals something that they do not have the opportunity to do at home. Our children have breakfast, lunch and dinner at the setting and a healthy well balanced diet is offered. They have a lovely open plan room with lots of stimulating toys and activities. The garden is fantastic for outdoor play.
We highly recommend Nichola and John.

Nichola has provided ad hoc child care for my 1 year old baby girl, as she works closely with my daughters regular childminder. Nichola has been great at making my daughter feel welcome and she settled in really quickly. She has provided excellent care and has worked really hard to keep the routine that she has with her regular childminder. My daughter has always been very happy to be left with Nichola even though she has only looked after her on several occasions. The activities that were provided were stimulating and varied and I will definitely be using Nichola again in the future. She provides detailed feedback on what they have been doing through the day and how my daughter has been. She was also very flexible and managed to help me out at short notice.

My son and daughter spent a lovely day with Nichola when their school had an inset day. They came home full of stories of what they had done all day- playing in the woods and the stream, making brooms and crafting at home. They LOVE the mud kitchen and really enjoy all the activities that Nichola puts on. They go every week and Nichola takes them to school - I expected them to be crestfallen that the child minder had to take them to school once a week. In fact it is something that they look forward to and when I say Nichola is taking you to school today it is a treat that they enjoy. Thanks Nichola!
