I am married with one daughter. In my last OFSTED Inspection (March 2014). I was awarded OUTSTANDING in all areas (Copy of full inspection report available upon request).
I am a fully trained SENCO and have worked as a Specialist Network SEN Childminder for Hastings and St Leonard's offering short breaks for children with additional needs and able to provide Early Years Education Entitlement (EYEE) funding for 3 & 4 year old's and referred 2 year old's.
In 2012 I was approached by PACEY (Professional Association for Childcare & Early Years) and asked to become a Local Facilitator setting up a Peer to Peer Support Network within East Sussex for Childminders, Nannies and Nurseries.
I have been a Support Childminder working with ESCC to support and assist newly registered childminders within East Sussex. and have also become a Community Childminder working closely with the Social Care teams within East Sussex.
I have also been awarded the gold tier in the new 2013 ESCC Quality Childminding Network having completed ESCC Launchpad for Quality successfully and having obtained a level 3 diploma in childcare and become an Accredited EYEE provider. I thoroughly enjoy working within the childcare industry, helping children to develop and grow.
I have worked as a childminder since 2007 and before that I worked as an assistant to a childminder. I have co-run a very successful childminding partnership looking after 12 children in the early years age group on a daily basis gaining childcare on domestic premises rating from Ofsted, before leaving to set up a more one-to-one service from my own home.
I currently work with children aged 8 mth's to 12 years. But have worked with children from birth to 16 years of age as well as children with special needs, delayed speech, autism and also have experience with working with children with epilepsy. I promote sensory play and use bubble tubes and sensory lights and also have a dark den for sensory experiences. I use Makaton and emotion cards to further the children's learning journeys.
I offer a range of activities that help children develop: arts and crafts, home corner, dress up, messy play, interactive toys and a mini library with reading area. Our garden is well equipped with slide and mini climbing frame, water/sand/mud table, ride on toys, plus we also have a plant and grow area and all year mud kitchen and a creative corner with outdoor chalk/painting boards.
I also have a range of soft play and sensory equipment for the children to use all year round including an all weather dark den.
I also have wheelchair access to my setting.
I am a Quality Assured Specialist Network SEN Childminder.
Fully registered Childminder with Ofsted awarded Outstanding (March 2014).
