Truly Amazing Childminder - Not to be missed!

Mariella is an absolutely wonderful person and childminder, we honestly couldn’t have wished for a better experience, this was our first time, and after visiting many others in the area, it was instantly clear she was by far the best, we just knew she was perfect for our son.

From day one, Mariella and our little boy got on like a house on fire, she’s played such a huge role in his development and growth, and we couldn’t be more grateful.

She is endlessly active with the children in her care, planning thoughtful daily activities in the local area that keep them engaged, happy, and learning, our son has built such a special bond with her, and it’s clear how much he loves his time with her, which means the world to us as parents.

Mariella has a real gift for understanding what children need at this early stage, and she provides it with warmth, energy, and care, she’s a fantastic communicator, always accommodating, and she has made our very first childcare experience truly special.

We feel so lucky to have found her, and we can’t recommend her highly enough.

Brilliant and trustworthy childminder

Mariella has been an excellent and loving childminder for our son from age 8 months to 22 months. His development with her has been fantastic to see and we are often hearing him say, show or do things that he has learned with Mariella. We were particularly worried about safety when he started (sleeping, choking when weaning etc) and we felt totally reassured that Mariella was aware of all the guidelines and requirements that would keep our child safe. Mariella supported his weaning journey perfectly with lots of nutritious and home cooked food and snacks and was especially helpful in catering to his dietary requirements. Mariella has taken him on some wonderful outings to support his learning , including playgroup sessions, stories at the library, singing, and the postal museum, as well as local parks and walks. They have engaged in activities that have transferred back to her home, such as collecting woodland artefacts for a craft activity. Recently she has been working with our son on his language development with lots of targeted activities and learning, which has been improving hugely, and his social and emotional development as he has been going through some big changes (new sibling). As an LGBT family, we have been very impressed with her awareness of how to treat us and support our child - far better than many other childcare settings we viewed before finding her - she immediately knew to ask us what he calls us and already had lots of books on diverse families, which we know he has enjoyed reading with her. We have a very open and communicative relationship with Mariella and she is very responsive on WhatsApp, which is hugely appreciated.

The best childminder

Mariella has been absolutely amazing with my little girl. I visited lots of childminders and nurseries and Mariella stood out immediately. I had to go back to work when my daughter was 9 months old and I was so worried about leaving her. I felt comfortable leaving her with Mariella straight away. She has years of childcare experience and is warm and kind and obviously genuinely loves children. She has ofsted outstanding which is hard to find in the area. Mariella’s home is beautiful and spacious with a lovely garden. She takes the children on so many outings and to lots of local activities and provides nutritious home cooked meals. Mariella doesn’t do school pick ups and drops offs, which was a massive plus for me and means she’s totally focussed on the little ones. Her setting is calm and not overwhelming and overstimulating as nurseries can be. The most important thing is that my daughter also loves Mariella, she’s excited when we approach her house!

Amazing Childminder

Our daughter has been with Mariella since she was 6 months old. Even though Mariella had recently opened her nursery at the time and no OFSTED report was available we decided to trust her because she had 18 years' experience working in nurseries and she had amazing references from parents. We could not have make a better choice. A few months later, Mariella's first Quality Assurance Report came out and, without surprise, she received the "outstanding" score.
Our daughter is so happy with Mariella, she always organises great activities for the kids (day trip to the museum, the parcs, playgroups, water parc, playing in her garden...). She is very involved in the kids' development and also helps with routine adjustment when needed. Mariella's house is my daughter's second home and it's great to see her so happy when she joins every morning. I highly recommend Mariella if you are looking for a childminder in the borough of Islington / Hackney.
