Updated February 2020

Ofsted updated their childminder assistant registration system in February 2020.

The following link must now be used instead of the EY2 forms.

Ofsted have introduced the new system to make it easier for childminders to report new adults on the premises, including new staff members and 16 year olds.

You must use this link to inform Ofsted about new staff members.

You must inform Ofsted about new staff members within 14 days of them starting their role.

An Ofsted approved, child workforce, enhanced, home-based Disclosure and Barring Check (DBS) must also be started on day one of an assistant’s employment alongside internal suitability checks as part of the Safer Recruitment process –

Note that new staff members cannot be left unsupervised with children until they receive a letter of suitability from Ofsted.
