How much should a babysitter cost?

Babysitting rates in the UK vary depending on a number of factors such as location, the qualifications of the babysitter and the date/time.

For example a babysitter in London will usually have higher rates than the rest of the country. Babysitting rates nationally tend to be between about £6 and £10 per hour.

Expect to pay more for a babysitter if they will be working after midnight. A teenager without any childcare qualifications will usually have a much lower babysitting rate than a qualified childcare professional who is babysitting.
