About Me

My name is Sophie, i am 23 years old and i live in castle bromwich. I am a friendly, trustworthy and polite individual that has always had a passion to work with children.

I am Ofsted Registered

I have level 3 childcare

I have first aid certificate, general and paediatric

I have an up to date Enhanced DBS check

I have done over 30 online courses including safeguarding, food hygiene, child protection to name a few.

My Experience

when doing my early years course i done 800 hours at placement in nursery and school settings with children ranged 0-8.

I also have personal experience babysitting. I have 14 nieces and nephews that I often babysit for. I have babysat for them for many years so have experience from when they were little. I have looked after them for a couple of hours where its mainly having fun with them to having them for a fortnight whilst my sister is on holiday.

I looked after 3 of my nieces, aged 12, 8 and 3 where I picked them up from school everyday, fed them, done homework etc with them and look after them until their mom picked them up after work.

I have also had a child minding job before where I picked up a boy aged 8 from after school club everyday, took him home, fed him, done homework with him,then we would make pizzas, cakes or generally have fun before i read with him each night before bed and put him to bed and looked after him until his parents came home from work at midnight. This only lasted 7 weeks as the mother left work when she found out she was pregnant, however since then i have looked after the boy and his baby sister when she was 6months overnight.

I have also looked after another 6 month old little girl on occassions whilst her parents went out. I have had her for the day where i took her to soft play with my niece. I then went on to have her 3-4 days a week for around 18 months.

I have worked in a nursery for two months working with 2 year olds, unfortunately due to a family emergency i could no longer work the hours they wanted me to so decided to become ofsted registered.

I have done online courses, these include first aid (basic and advanced), food safety, health and safety, managing behaviour, children with SEN, babysitting, nannying, partnership with parents and revisiting the EYFS. I have certificates online for all of these that i can show to anyone that would like to see them.

For 3 years i have worked for a nurse who does night shifts, i sleep over at her house 4-5nights a week to look after her two children.
