Hello my names Lisa, iv been childminding since 2003,.
I live in Romsey with my partner Mike and our two fantastic sons, who are aged 15 and 8years. We have a very friendly cat who thinks she is one of the children.
In the past 14 and half years i have been blessed with being part of some amazing children and there families lives. working in partnership together helping each child grow as happy, confident individuals.
I offer a home from home warm, loving safe fun environment. giving children freedom of access to a range of toys and equipment.
A typical day!!!! we might attend local toddler group . or the park, leaf crunching feeding ducks. home playing, reading stories, singing dancing, arts and crafts, baking or in the garden whizzing about on 3/4 wheels planting seeds finding mini beasts. the list is endless. i dont know who has more fun the children or myself.
Being the youngest of 4.. And having 6 Neice, 3 nephews, 4 great nephews and 1 great niece. From a teenager Having played a big part in there lives, having fun and babysitting. Back in my 20,I worked as home care assistant for Dorset county council for 9 years. this involved caring for a mixed age of people in there own homes. I was very lucky to meet and work with some amazing families and to play a big part in the day to day care of their children. When I had my 1st son I decided to go into childminding. that was almost 14 years ago and I absolutely love it.
I also work for a company called Ladysitter and sit for families on a weekend break at Limewood hotel. Probably my best experience of all has to be bringing up my 2 sons aged 13 and 6 years old, they have certainly taught me a lot. Working with children has to be one of the most rewarding jobs.

I’ve spent a long time wondering just how to express my thanks to Lisa, knowing no gift or present would ever be adequate enough. Lisa has been a childminder to our daughter 3 days a week for nearly 4 years and throughout this time she has been many things to her; a mother, a guardian, a teacher, a moral guide, and also to me; an empathiser, a source of knowledge and wisdom and a good friend. Her experience and support during teething, growth spurts, chickenpox and other challenging times over the past 4 years has been invaluable and always a great comfort to know that someone else also understands our child in the same way.
Lisa’s love and nurturing of the children in her care is clearly evident by the close bonds she develops with them. It was important to us for our daughter to be looked after by someone who offers cuddles freely, is happy and open and offers the same level of care similar to that we would provide at home. Lisa does all this and so much more.
Lisa constantly demonstrates her excellent skills as a childminder: she is patient yet firm, caring and attentive, and is able to find the fun in any activity. Our daughter loved going to the park, doing messy play and attending the weekly playgroups and song time sessions with Lisa and also the day trips further afield during holiday times like the zoo and the beach. Other parents have spoken to me who have seen Lisa at playgroups and observed how attentive she is with the children in her care. Throughout the time I’ve known her, she has been constantly reliable having taken no time off sick and holidays are always planned well in advance. She is very flexible and understanding in the times when I’ve been delayed at work or stuck in traffic before afternoon pick up for which I am very grateful.
Over the years our daughter has been very happy spending time with Lisa and her family, forming a close bond with Lisa's boys, and we’ve been very fortunate to never have tears or clinging when leaving her there in the morning. It was a different story when she started pre-school!
In my opinion Lisa is an outstanding childminder and we are all very sad as our daughter has started school this September and we won’t see Lisa so often. We moved house last year which means we’ve had to find a local childminder for pre and after school however our daughter will still go to Lisa during holiday times as I know she will miss Lisa terribly. We hope our daughter will continue to see Lisa during the school holidays for many years to come.
It feels like a huge decision choosing a childminder when your baby is still so young, especially when there is little information, other than an Ofsted report, to support that decision. I found Lisa via the TVBC website and I am so grateful I did. Thank you Lisa for all your hard work but especially the love you have shown our daughter over the years. You have been incredible and I’m so glad we were given this opportunity to know you.
My daughter has been going to Lisa since she was 6 months old, and she is nearly 4 now. I wouldn't have left my little one with anyone else; Lisa is so kind and caring and treats my daughter like one of the family She currently spends around 6 hours a day, 3-4 days a week with Lisa and always enjoys her time there, I certainly couldn't wish for a better childminder. Lisa is very conscientious, well organised and a great support; especially if things happen at work at the last minute and I've had to say I'll be a little late or whatever. Nothing is too much bother and I know I can rely on her to provide everything my daughter needs. Over these early years, my daughter who is naturally quite shy, has grown in confidence and in her ability to make friends and I put a lot of this down to our choice of childminder. Lisa's caring and loving attitude towards my daughter meant that she settled without any wobbles at all from the word go and I think we've only had two days when there were any kind of tears at being left which has been such a blessing. It is very important to me that I can go to work knowing that I've left my child with someone they are so happy to be with. Lisa is very experienced in all aspects of childcare and provides a wide range of activities for the children; soft play, playgrounds, toddler groups, baking, artwork, messy play, sticking, reading, stories, dancing and all sorts. More fun than my daughter would have if she was at home with me!
I highly recommend Lisa; she is just brilliant.
