My name is Eileen, I am an Ofsted Registered Childminder, graded 'outstanding' for the second time (June 2016). I live in Central Chiswick with my husband, two daughters (16 and 13) and our pet cat. I operate a small home based childcare setting from Monday to Friday. I work alongside an assistant from Monday to Friday.
My main aim is to provide a safe, warm and nurturing home environment with stimulating play activities such as arts and crafts, baking and various adult and child led activities. Children have access to activities in the local community such as rhyme time, playgroup, parks, playgrounds, visits to library and the pet shop. I plan special trips such as Kew Gardens, trips to the museums, the theatre and nature reserves where children have the opportunity to encounter and discover new experiences.
I provide daily, fresh home cooked meals incorporating each child's individual needs and tastes
I am N.N.E.B qualified with over 20 years experience of working with children. I have a Foundation Degree in Early Years and and a 2:1 BA Honours Degree in Childhood and Youth Studies (level 6 qualification) I am able to provide excellent references and ideally situated close to all public transport links. Childcare vouchers accepted.
My hobbies when I am not working are spending time with my family, going to the gym, reading, going to the movies and socialising with my friends.
I have worked with children since leaving school in 1989 in a variety of roles such as classroom assistant, nursery nurse and playgroup supervisor. I have been a registered childminder since 2005, prior to childminding I worked as a nanny in central London for over 10 years. I have also had my own children, so I am in a unique position where I can relate to parents and see things from a parents perspective but equally I am a highly trained and skilled professional practitioner who can offer advice and support to parents when needed.

Eileen is a great childminder, she took care of our son 2 days a week when we were in London (french family). Eileen and her assistant are really nice, and competent. During 2 years my son really enjoyed to see them and learned a lot. I recommend highly this childminder!
My daughter started going to Eileen in May 2019, 2 mornings a week, it took a couple weeks to settle in and now she loves it. She gets her back on those mornings and gets very excited to see Eileen, at drop off she tells Daddy to go!! Its so great for her socially to play with older and younger kids, and to eat together at the table. As my work gets busier we will be adding more days, because we know she will love more time with Eileen.
Eileen has been looking after our daughter since March 2017 and after our son since September 2018.
We are really happy with Eileen (and her assistants!), she has taught so many things to our children, especially helping them to become more independent and potty trained, and with their language skills (we are a French family).
Everyday we receive lots of pictures with a detailed report of what our children do, and there a new theme of discoveries (shapes, seasons, colours..) every week.
Kids spend a lot of time outside and have several activities every week (Rhyme time, playgroup..).
I know that my kids are in very good hands when they are with Eileen and I would highly recommend her.
Our son was looked after by Eileen for 2 years from the age of 1 to age 3. We were very happy with exceptional care he received. She provides a warm, nurturing environment that children thrive in. The day is fairly structured but there is lots of chance for the children to play freely. Eileen ensures the children get out and about into the community every day and they enjoy trips to various parks to play grounds, to Kew Gardens, pond dipping in Gunnersbury Triangle as well as visiting the cobbler, pet shop and dentist on occasion! My son truely felt like he was in a home away from home in the setting and this was enhanced by the warmth and kindness of the rest of Eileen's family , especially one of the daughters who loved to entertain the children! Meals provided are nutritious, home cooked and enjoyed by the children. Communication was excellent and included regular photo's through the day on Whatsapp, a detailed daily diary, a detailed observations report and yearly 'parents evening'. We would highly recommend Eileen to look after you child!!
My son has been attending Eileen's setting for one year from his first birthday. Her communication is impeccable, with a newsletter sent out at the beginning of the week detailing the "theme" for the week, activities scheduled that week, along with the menu. The home-cooked food is excellent, being extremely healthy, varied and encouraging table manners and independent eating from an early age. She sends What's App pictures throughout the day to keep you updated with your child's activities. These, at the start, made me feel much more comfortable in knowing exactly how my child was doing whilst I was at work. Now, they serve as a prompt that I need to do more activities with him myself to make home as fun and educational as Eileen's house! There is a strong emphasis on going out everyday to local parks/pet shops/rhyme classes etc. My son has benefitted greatly from the social aspect of seeing the same familiar friends at Eileen's house, confidently walking into her home in the mornings with barely a goodbye to me! She ensures parents are thoroughly informed about their childrens' daily updates along with offering a longer term review at "parents evening" where more formal developmental progress is discussed. She is always receptive to any queries/comments/suggestions and very helpful in offering general parenting advice. The children under her care thrive in a home-from-home environment with a clear routine and also benefit from the warmth and fun of Eileen's husband and daughters.
