Jodie started working for us in November 2011 and it has been a wonderful year. Her main duty is to look after our two year old son Benjamin, but she also has care of our five year old daughter once Poppy finishes school. Jodie is very confident and active with the children and enjoys taking them to baby groups, activity centres and parks. She and my daughter also engage in various creative activities such as arts, crafts, and baking. Both of our children love playing with her and Jodie has a fantastic way of making any job seem fun! She helps my daughter with her homework and assists her with her literacy and numeracy too. Benjamin thinks Jodie is his best friend and it’s a real joy to watch them playing and having fun together.
Jodie is always happy and positive and will always offer to help, even if it is beyond her remit. She often stays later than her hours to assist us and will often make dinner and bath the children if we are late home from work. Even though Jodie’s hours do not include weekends, she has always helped out if we need her. My brother has five children, and on the weekends that he visits, Jodie makes a point of being available and on hand to look after the littlest children. My newest niece is only two months old and Jodie has been a great help to my brother. She has spent nights at my brother’s house, helping with the new-born and the other older girls as well and I really feel like she has become a part of our family.
She is always punctual and organised and super enthusiastic with the children. She is always patient but most importantly she demonstrates the perfect balance of strict and fun. The children respect her but also really love having her around. She is conscientious and thorough and likes to engage in educational but still enjoyable activities with both of my children. She has taught Ben many words and even how to sing!
