We go on daily outings to playgroups, parks, the library, or sometimes a farm, soft play area, museum or zoo.

Emma Pollock has been our childminder for over 10 years – first with my son and then my daughter. She is truly incredible and I cannot imagine our children’s lives without her, she has enriched them immeasurably. She has a reputation as the best around for a reason. Calm, always engaged and very funny, her care is warm and meticulous. My children have flourished under her full-time care, and now in after-school care. The environment Emma creates for the children is varied and stimulating, with lots of time outdoors in local parks and woods, at local playgroups, or at home and in the garden with great toys and learning toys/games. Emma’s knowledge of the early years’ curriculum and children’s age-appropriate needs is exceptional. A beautiful, nurturing environment where children flourish.

Our eldest child graduated from Emma’s childminding a few years ago, and our youngest has just finished his time there. Our elder is now thriving at school on all fronts—academic, recreational, and social—and we strongly believe that his foundational development at Emma’s played a huge part in his success.
Our younger had an equally amazing experience. He is summer-born, so we chose to have him spend an extra year with Emma. We knew that this additional year in his home-away-from-home would be the greatest gift we could give him for the future. It truly is the most warm and nurturing environment you could wish for.
Emma is a complete all-rounder. Her playfulness is adored by the children, and it is complemented by fantastic communication and incredible attentiveness that puts parents completely at ease. In over six years, from the very first day of settling in, I never once worried about either of my children.
Words cannot express how grateful we are for the impact Emma has had on our kids. Seeing the tiny beings they were when they started and the wonderful people they have become, we know these were their defining years. We feel absolutely blessed to have had Emma in their lives. Without a doubt, she is the greatest of all time.
My only regret is I never had any of her beloved dinners. Always smelled yummy at pick-up time.

If you’re on the lookout for a childminder then look no further! For the past three years, my son has been schooled in the art of fun. Emma doesn’t just “mind” children; she genuinely gets them and connects with them. They adore her. She’s part comedian, part educator, part chef, part superhero. She’s lighthearted yet so professional, ready to tackle any situation with humour and grace. She is incredibly knowledgeable on everything related to child development. My son has learned a great deal of science and nature-related fun facts as well as Maths and phonics skills which she naturally weaves into their day. Emma is so organised and communicates so efficiently. Now that my little guy is off to preschool, we’ll miss her jokes, immaculate home and her genuine care for the children. We will absolutely be back to visit as we can’t imagine life without her in it. If you’re lucky enough to get a spot with her, take it. Just don’t blame me when your child starts asking why you can’t cook like Emma!

We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better start to Sebby’s early years than with Emma. She’s been an absolute superstar of a childminder, and saying goodbye feels incredibly emotional after such a special time.
Emma has looked after Sebby since he was just over a year old, and the bond they’ve built is amazing. It’s clear how much love and care she pours into everything she does, from the incredible outings and adventures she takes the children on, to the delicious, healthy meals she somehow always manages to whip up (I genuinely don’t know how she does it all!).
Sebby is not only always happy and thriving in Emma’s care, but we’re continually impressed by how incredibly organised and thoughtful she is. She keeps us fully informed each day, not just about how Sebby has eaten, slept, and settled, but also with helpful advice on broader matters, like how changes to government funding might affect us. On top of all that, she somehow finds the time to create photo memory books for each child she cares for, something that means so much!
Emma has played such an important role in Sebby’s life and ours, and we’re so sad to be moving on. She is truly outstanding and we can't believe how lucky we have been to have her. We’ll miss her so much!

We sent our 10 month old son to Emma once a week, and from the very first day he was with her he has thrived. Emma is caring, diligent and nurturing, and I have complete confidence of my son’s care when he’s with her. In different circumstances, I would have had my son with Emma for longer and more days! She creates a lovely group atmosphere and the kids seem extremely happy and content. I highly recommend Emma as a Childminder.

We have been absolutely delighted with the care and education Emma has provided for our daughter. It is a truley wonderful setting which has the perfect blend of homely attachment whilst providing the children with educational experiences. There is a fantastic open communication and Emma always feeds back to us whilst taking on our views and updates about our daughter.
The children are always active and stimulated. They often visit places in the community and our daughter always has great stories to tell.
Emma is beyond nurturing, she is very warm with the children and VERY supportive of parents.
There is no question to silly. Our daughter thrives.
Emma’s home has a wonderful community of kind and attentive children and parents. We couldn’t be more pleased we found her.
We strongly strongly recommend Emma.

Emma has been looking after our son for over 2 years. He's developed so much in this time, and loved his time with Emma. She's an excellent communicator and gives us both written and verbal updates regularly. She's also highly organised, planning her holidays an eye-watering distance in advance, and thinking about different activities for the children in her care depending on the weather.
Most importantly though she's caring, supportive and fun. Knowing that when we drop off our son he's going somewhere he enjoys being, with a person who really cares for him, is a huge achivement. Anybody who gets a spot with Emma is really lucky, and we've felt that way.

We have been so lucky to find Emma. Our daughter comes back yabbering away about her fun-filled days. She absolutely loves going and her development has soared since being there. Emma’s house is beautiful, light and spacious - the perfect place for a child. She cooks meals that put me to shame! She is so in demand and we feel so lucky that we got a place and that our daughter spends her days with her.

My children have been looked after by Emma since my youngest was 10 months (he’s now 3.5 years). When I tell local mums in the area that our childminder is Emma, they always say “wow you’re so lucky, I’ve heard she’s amazing” and they are absolutely spot on.
My oldest child is now at school, so is no longer in Emma’s care and my youngest child will be going to preschool soon, so devastatingly will no longer be being looked after by Emma. She has been such a huge part of our lives over the past few years and we are all very sad to leave her as she really does feel a part of the family (although I will be pestering her for after school spots).
I honestly couldn’t have asked for a more perfect person to look after my children. My transition back to work, leaving 2 small children, was only bearable because of Emma. She has the loveliest nature, making my children feel safe, heard and encouraged. She’s very calm, yet attentive. She has conversations with them, using their name, talking with them as people not at them as children which is something that has really stood out to me. She knows their likes, dislikes, knows when they are not themselves. She remembers and lets me know funny things my son has said or done throughout the day when I do the pick up. I trust her entirely.
My son loves being in Emma’s care. He loves her cooking (he tells me “I only like Emma’s carrots”), they go out for walks, they go to playgroup and interact with other children. He was very excited recently and came home telling me about the “chrysalis” of the butterflies that were recently grown at Emma’s.
To sum Emma up:
- Best childminder you could ever have the pleasure of caring for your children
- Best decorated house on Halloween in Muswell Hill
- The only house that a rockstar Santa Claus visits
