Caring for children has always been far more than a career for me – it is a vocation that sits at the very heart of who I am. I am a Norland-trained nanny with many years of professional experience, and I bring a calm, thoughtful and deeply nurturing approach to my work with children of all ages.
I am often described by families as warm, gentle and quietly confident – someone who creates a secure, happy environment where children feel understood, valued and able to flourish. I believe in consistency, kindness and clear boundaries, and I take great pride in offering children both emotional safety and joyful, enriching days. I believe children learn best through the relationships around them, and much of what I offer is careful, consistent role modelling. I am deeply aware of the example I set – in how I speak, how I manage emotions and how I treat others – and I strive to model warmth, curiosity, resilience and respect in everyday moments. (More than one family has affectionately referred to me as “Miss Honey” – which I take as the highest compliment.)
Professionalism, discretion and trust are incredibly important to me. I understand the privilege of working within a family’s home and strive to build open, respectful relationships with both parents and children. Communication is key, and I work very much in partnership with families, ensuring parents feel supported, informed and reassured.
Becoming a mother myself has deepened my understanding of family life in ways no training alone ever could. I now bring not only professional expertise, but genuine empathy for the realities of parenting – the joys, the worries, the juggle – and I feel this allows me to support families with even greater sensitivity and insight.
My Experience
I have over 14 years of professional childcare experience, having worked predominantly in sole-charge roles and as a proxy parent within private households. My experience spans all age ranges, from newborns and multiples through to school-aged children and teenagers.
My background includes:
Full-time residential and live-out nanny roles
Part-time and temporary holiday nanny positions
Extensive babysitting and ad hoc care
Regular proxy parenting responsibilities
Nursery teaching roles within several highly acclaimed Prep schools
In 2018, I returned to Norland College to gain my Maternity Nurse qualification, further strengthening my expertise in newborn care and early parenthood support.
Alongside my professional career, I am also a proud mother to my 5.5 year old daughter and 2 year old son, which has given me invaluable lived experience of the emotional and practical realities of raising young children.
I combine high-level training, breadth of experience and instinctive, loving care – offering families a nurturing presence they can truly rely on.
My Qualifications
I am a fully qualified Norland Nanny and Maternity Nurse with a full and relevant Level 4 qualification in Early Years Childhood Studies, and also hold a Paediatric First Aid qualification, enhanced DBS check, full clean UK driving licence and excellent verifiable references.
